Title: Redemption: the biggest band?
Post by: Eragon5 on April 09, 2015, 12:51:10 PM
What's the biggest character cards only band you can find, preferably with a fight by the numbers character like Captain of the Host.
I'll start off with heroes:
Seraphim to Helez to Abishai to Asahel and Joab  to Ishmaiah the Gibeonite to Heldai to Maharai to Rachel to Jacob to CotH
At band 3, Asahel bands to, Prince Jonathan who bands to Armorbearer to Samuel who bands to Ittai who bands to David.
16 characters in a FBTN band!
Feel free to improve this if you find a better way.

Large bands are awesome, especially because I love using red, but you really have to be careful of cards like Joseph in prison, wrath of Satan, and Korah's Rebellion...you could lose almost your entire offense in one battle!

I'll give it a go.

Jacob bands to AutO exchanges to Moses.

Hmm, that was only two heroes. Let me try again.

Simeon bands to AutO exchanges for Moses.

Darn, only two again.  Okay how about this one:

Aaron bands to Moses.

Seraph bands to Aaron bands to Moses?

Still two. Oh well, I've already won the game... ... .. .

For T2:
Gomer to Siezing Spirit to Esau to Zimri Son of Salu to Cubus to Lot's Wife to Delilah to King Menasseh to Beast from the Sea to Wandering Spirit x 4 to Fallen Angel x 4 to Lying Spirit to Herodian to Herod Agrippa II to High Priest Annas to Pharisee x 12 and Saducee x 16 and High Priest Caiaphas and Captain of the Temple Guard x 4 and Disbelieving Sadducees x 4 and Temple Guard x 4 and Hard-Hearted Religious Leaders x 4 and Stone Throwers x 4 and The Entrapping Pharisees and Saul.

For a total of 73, but no FTBN.

However, if you allow cards that search decks for characters and add them to battle, you get
Gomer to Siezing Spirit to Esau to Zimri Son of Salu to Cubus to Lot's Wife to Delilah to King Belshazzar to The Winged Lion to Nebuchadnezzar search and add Archers of Kedar x 4 to Egyptian Archer x 4 the Dreaming Pharaoh to Egyptian Wise Men x 4 to Egyptian Magicians x 4 to The Amelakite's Slave search and add King Menasseh to Beast from the Sea to Wandering Spirit x 4 to Fallen Angel x 4 to Lying Spirit to Herodian to Herod Agrippa II to High Priest Annas to Pharisee x 12 and Saducee x 16 and High Priest Caiaphas and Captain of the Temple Guard x 4 and Disbelieving Sadducees x 4 and Temple Guard x 4 and Hard-Hearted Religious Leaders x 4 and Stone Throwers x 4 and The Entrapping Pharisees and Saul.

For a total of 92.

For T1, if you simply eliminate duplicates on the above chains, you get 30 for the first one and 34 for the second.

Of course, these could get even bigger if you used Unknown Nation, Gates of Hell or some other things that can add characters to battle. If you used Besieged with and Unknown Nation with Pithom or Gates of Hell, you could add FTBN to those chains.

For the Pharisee/Sadducee part, don't forget The Sanhedrin (character, not enhancement) and Scribe.

Also, you may be able to fit more in a T1 deck of sufficient size...don't forget there is no max of 4 in T1, but 1 per 50 cards, so you can fit 5 of those.  However, in T1 you can also only have 1 of each dual-brigade character, so trade-off, but go with T1 and you can go higher.

Not necessarily, wickedness of the tenants, stone of thebez, christian martyr, tenants kill the son, etc. Not to mention, tough evil characters.
Still tough to block though . . .  ;).

Ah, I had The Sanhedrin in there at one point. I must have lost them somewhere. Then I also forgot Sanhedrin can band to Scribe.

Yea, I did it all assuming max of 4 for T2 and max of 1 for T1. Obviously you would just multiply the generic characters by whatever number you're allowed to have to increase the number.

The number for T1 would be more useful, since I think the point was to see how long of a chain of individual characters you could get.

Isn't there a deck maximum of 154 for T1?  Or was that removed?

Nope you are right.  As a T2 player I had the max size for that type on the brain.

Scratch what I said :P
