Looking at Byron's possible rule changing thread, I just wondered how many people would actually want NJ banned.
I'll start the voting with a definite YES I don't want anymore NJ.
Yes: 10
No: 19
However as the creater of the tread my vote counts for 10 which Oh whadda you know 20 to 19. :) ;) ;) ;) :D
Thanks,
Neil

Yep, though I think that the proposed change should be thoroughly tested to see if it at least lessens the problem without changing the meta too much
-
I'm going to say no. I think there are better ways to deal with it. I'm just not sure what yet.

+1

I agree with the above two and say NO as well. I rarely participate in polls, but I feel very strongly about not banning cards. Though the OP has expressed his opinion I hope he gets the opposite of what he expects. 8)

Better ways than banning is...banning? ¿lolwut?
-
Ill stay with the old folk. No ban.
-
Don't ban. It's awesome to see new players faces when they realize how powerful the "free" promo they just got in a gift tin is. Don't make me tell them it's nothing but useless cardboard.
-
no ban
-
No ban, but the new rule is awesome.
-
not a rule. ban.
-
Yes, Ban NJ. No hesitation here.
-
Ban it. It's not widely available and contributes nothing to the game but corniness.
-
No banning of any cards, ever. Just find a way and work around it...of course I can count on my hand the number of times I have been able to personally obtain both SoG and NJ AND play them in the same game...
-
No ban!

Except in every new Gift tin?

Every new player getting their hands on one isn't "widely"?
-
no ban please ^_^

Include it in the starters. if not then ban.

Lol wat?

Lol wat?
the point of including it in the starts would be to make the impact itself a little less because everybody has it and includes it in there deck, believe it or not there are still a lot of people that don't have a NJ and are at a distinct disadvantage
-
Six of my 8 person playgroup do not have a NJ.
-
Want some? I have a bunch of them. I was going to burn them this winter to keep me warm, but I can send you a few if you want.
Don't ban NJ!

I would love them! I still have people in my playgroup without them as well, and would be glad to take as many as anyone would give me :)

Likewise, Only half of my playgroup has NJ.

I was going to say this poll wouldn't matter overall, but then I realized how much influence the people actually have on the game. I personally believe it shouldn't be banned. We've already had it around this long and frankly, banning cards brings this game down a step from being one of the most carefully structured games I've ever played to another mainstream one that never lasts. I want to be able to teach my future children this game (plenty of years to go for that), and banning is the first step in a long process that will tarnish the values this game stood for.
Plus it's just gross to ban a card, come on.
-
Fun Fact: the creator of this thread was on earlier and didn't update the original post's numbers. Is it coincidence that the thread does not match with his opinions or desired outcome and the poll not be updated? YOU be the judge. ::) :P
-
Hey Neil You r totally right, NJ should be banned because type 1 goes by too fast. Redemption should ban it.
-
Let's errata it. New Jerusalem: When played Simultaneaous played with Son of God, win the game.
-
Putting a stipulate on it won't help. Either ban it or don’t.
I would vote to kick it from the game but there are always people saying to get rid of it or making valid arguments to keep it. If you say you can use it but not like this it will just frustrate both sides of the debate.
-

Starter tin anyone? Really? That's all my new players get. There's no reason to buy anything else.

Not true I was on at 11 last night and opened the boards tap for about 10 seconds but didn't do anything. I am updating the poll right now.

Of course he was just messing around, but i'm a Junior I still have a reputation to hold/build.

Good...I'm glad you knew I was joking (kind of like setting up a false conspiracy theory). :)

(kind of like setting up a false conspiracy theory). :)
Depending on who you are, that's either redundant or an oxymoron.
-
Im not in favor a banning, even thought SoG +NJ causes me to think harder about my opponents strategy even if they rarely use it. Its just fun to pull it on people, which i have done like may be 3 times

No to banning !
-
Most of the kids in our new playgroup have it. What we've done is primarily get gift tins, and then take the starters out. If they decide they like the game and they want to pay the extra $5, they get 6 packs, NJ, and a tin to keep their cards. Great deal. One guy got an AoC. I'm pretty sure that's the same guy who got a Grapes from winning sealed deck (random texp), and a Mayhem out of the first TexP he bought. Ridiculous. He was a 2nd grader (now starting 3rd grade).
-
Why not have them pay $15 in the first place? Simpler, and less unsaleable stock lying around.
-
Because our playgroup is through the church, we:
A. Have a decently steady amount of new people joining, who will buy the stock eventually.
B. Don't want the parents to think we're ripping them off by making them buy the gift set instead of the starter.
C. It's a good deal. Most people do it anyway. We tell them how amazing NJ is and they take our word as though we were Gabe-tier.
Interestingly enough, the 2nd grader's name is Gabe. Coincidence?
-
I vote no. Especially with the concept of the new rule coming down the pipe.
-
An extra $5 for one of the best cards in the game? How is that a ripoff?
-
It's really not, it's a great deal, but parents often don't understand that. Some of the kids might not even play more than one weekend, so why pay the extra money? We don't want them buying more than they need to, especially those who buy it with their own money. Of course, those whose parents buy stuff for them can buy all they want. They're mostly doctors at the Mayo Clinic.
I don't get why you're so adamant on this. There's no advantage to make them buy the gift tin instead of a normal starter with the option to upgrade later.
-
I guess I'm just incredulous about your stance. When people are hesitant about getting into the game, I explain what a great deal the gift tin is, and they're much more likely to buy.
-
No
-
I realize that the packs in the gift tin are worthless to us, but they also add value to the gift tins for new players.
-
I don't think that NJ should be banned. But I do think that it would help the game if you were not allowed to use both son of God and NJ together in your oun territory, but if you could just use Son of God in your territory.
-
I realize that the packs in the gift tin are worthless to us, but they also add value to the gift tins for new players.
Not so useless when said new player pulls AoC AND Confusion.
/Or a three-liner, but I've never seen that happen.

Gabe might have done that (3 Liner) as well. I'll have to check on Saturday. Kid has ridiculously good luck with packs...

Don't ban NJ, ban anyone who uses it.

And yet I don't see you tearing through your boxes upon boxes of blue packs to get one.
-
That's because the opportunity cost of opening them is marginally greater then the opportunity benefit.

Marginally should be bolded. When was the last time you sold one of those things? Or even found someone who wanted one?
-
You'd be surprised. I've sold enough of them so my statement still holds true.
-
Ban it.
-
They're good for booster.
-
They're good for booster.
Yeah, I'd like to run a classic booster sometime soon.
-
No, super booster. With warriors. And don't let Olijar get a warriors rare.
-
Now, if only I had Warriors packs.....
-
Now, if only I had Warriors packs.....
You have (1) Women's Packs! Half way there

That's only because I'm monogamous.

i'm up for another Super Draft. this time with roa/foof2.

No ban

No ban, change rule to offense only.
