i was lookihg at someones profil and i saw the option "ad to buddy list ". what is the buddy list ???

It's the inverse of an ignore list.  You can see the online status and/or contact your buddies at a glance, and if you don't want to be bugged by other forum members, you can set your profile so you only get emails and PMs from people on your buddy list.

Hm.  Different question: What's the purpose of a buddy list?  I don't see myself using that (or the ignore list, if someone's bugging me, I'll report it)

The purpose of a buddy list is for people who want to list their buddies to have that avenue.  The purpose of an ignore list is for people who want to ignore individual users to have that avenue.  It's perfectly acceptable to have a feature that comes standard with the software go used by less than 100% of members.  I can't even get my tournament hosts to post their own tournaments on the calendar.

considering there is not instant messenger on here you cant really make that comparison. yes facebook has an IM but they also have tons of other crap AIM is just IM and chat rooms

If Wanderer had the tournament host status, I'm fairly certain he'd start using the calender.

thats kind of like a chat room except if it were an actual chat room it would be worst chat room ever considering you can only see one or two posts at a time

Profile -> Modify Profile -> Ignore/Buddy list -> Modify Buddies.
