I am in the NW and would have to agree with you. There are not alot of players in the greater Seattle WA area.
My brother, three of his friends and myself all play Redemption. My brother and I played way back in 1995-96 when Redemption first came out. We are just now getting back into it. His friends are new to it this year. I would like to find more players in this area.
Please feel free to PM me if you live in the area and want to play.

i know how ya guys feel.
i mean here in hendersonville TN there is only 1 active redemption player who knows the game, can't host tournaments, can't start a playgroup, can't even teach the game without confusing people and that person is me.
for those of you in TN,GA wherever near the TN area: don't rely on me to host tournaments

The northwest isn't that bad. The group I host near Salem, OR has as many as 25 players. When I was in Longview, WA I had 30 players although I'm not sure any of them play since I moved away. The problem with the NW is that we are just all spread out too much.

i'm sure if chris bany goes for road trips to differant states, redemption would be alot hotter today then it is now

Chris isn't the only big name around, Even if he does make North Central the best region (And coincidentally enough harder to win than nationals.) I hereby move that NC regionals should be worth 50 RNRS points!

No way, NE is a really close second almost a tie but NC has you beat.

I don't know. I've never expirienced non-mainstream NC players so it's hard for me to judge.

This is true, NE has a lot of big names, NC has just as many, Out of curiosity how many players did NE regionals have this year? I know NC was scary big, almost as big as some early decade nationals.

This is true, I am proud of my region though, I really enjoy playing with everybody in it from Tim Maly to Isabelle Rueter. (I don't think I spelled her name right....) They're all just such great people and competitors.

How offten do you guys get together and play? I would be interested in coming down and playing sometime.

I'm not sure how much we will play this upcoming year at the moment because I'm getting ready to go to Nats and that has taken my energy thus far. I normally try and host tournaments every other month if my schedule allows.
Normally we would have tournaments in Medford, OR and Vancouver, WA. This year that wont be possible since we will be down two hosts. One is going off to college (DaClock) and one is pulling back from the game (Stamp).
How many people do you know of that play in your area?

Yeah, I guess it's sort of like the Pittsburgh Pirates trading away another star. :D
But seriously, on Jan 1 I will be revisiting the decision. If there are a ton of players clamoring for tournaments I may just have to use the Reyzen hosting method: cover my expenses and I'll host your tournament. (I'm just not going to cut back on my fishing budget. :) )

Ahhhh the power of fishing. LOL We will have to see how things go this year. It may turn out to be a real down year for Redemption in the Northwest. Of course I could be really wrong and things might turn out strong this year. We'll have to see what happens after Nats.

How many people do you know of that play in your area?
We have 5 players at the moment. Two of us have been playing for a while and three are just starting up.

NC regionals was awesome this year! And BIG...seven rounds for T1-2P was crazy!
I had so much fun...other than my nickname from Chris during booster draft. Darn you, Tim, for giving me your 'naughty' sleeves...I actually cleaned out my backpack with my cards today and discovered I DID have my sleeves with me, I just forgot they were in the other pocket. Oh well, serves me right for being lazy. ::)

I just feel the need to say, as this thread died a lot less quickly than I thought it did, the whole thing was just an excuse to use the pun "in before Da Clock" and I have no ill will against any region.

Answering someone's question, there were 35 at NE regionals (correct me if I'm wrong).
PA is making a comeback this year. Nathan and I are starting two new playgroups: One in Chambersburg, at my church, and one in Mifflinburg (Northern PA), for a total of three. We hope for these to expand this year and possibly to bring NE Regionals back to PA.
No joke, after 5 years, I am FINALLY getting a playgroup started at my church and am allowed to host tournaments! If you remember, this was a HUGE concern of mine, but God has been faithful and my church was pretty awesome in letting us host tournaments and charge fees (which was my concern).

Marti let me know when you guys are having tourneys, your about two to three hours away, we should be able to make some tourneys.

Sweet. Yeah, Nathan and I have to sit and make a schedule. We'll be hosting 2-3 tournaments in Chambersburg, and 2-3 in York, and 2 at Mifflinburg. Let us know when you're doing them too, I want to try to get down to one or two.

We Pittsburgh people are still trucking along too, don't forget us. We missed all you central PA people at States.

We missed you too. June was absolutely insane for us Central PA folk because of Brad and Gretel getting married, so we missed out. I didn't get to a State tourney at all! :(

After doing some quick map checking Marti, your group looks to be in the center for about 3-4 playgroups, we may be able to pull of some more epic tourneys in the NE. The Pittsburgh and Mifflinburg groups look to be close to you, and as outsiders some us MD players are close enough to come as well. I have an odd request, I may have an opportunity to start another play group in a different church. A church whom I do martial arts with may be interested in sending some of their youth leaders(who are gamers) to me for Redemption "training" to start another MD playgroup. This could be awesome as they are only 20 minutes away.

Thats amazing. And yes, this is why we decided to try and get Chambersburg. We're going to shoot for Regionals next summer. Pittsburgh is 3 hours, York is an hour a half, and Mifflinburg is 2 hours. If you need help with tournies and training, hit me up. :)

Shawn, keep us posted down in the Adelphi/College Park area, Gretel and I might be able to help out a couple of times as well depending on school and work schedules.

It would be majorly helpful if States was in May. :). Oh and just ask Mr. B about Nats. He usually knows early contenders.
