How do you decide which words are ones which "everyone knows"?

but you cannot lose unless you have more than three letters, which would mean sk loses.

"kry" isn't a word in the English language.  However, it is the root of a word everybody knows.

Also, it seems like "Hallelujah" is about the only word that everyone knows...
