I'm pretty sure that the reader for my CD/DVD drive is no longer functional. When I put in a CD it just chugs for a while and then does nothing. It recognizes that I have something in the drive but it doesn't recognize what is there. (i.e. I can't click on the D drive to open the folder) I hadn't used my CD/DVD drive in quite a long time until we got a couple of new CDs that I wanted to load and now it doesn't work. I'd be surprised if it was something else because every other aspect of the computer works just fine.
Do you have any suggestions on how to go about replacing the CD/DVD drive?

Make sure the laser isn't dusty.

You didn't mistake it for a built-in Cupholder right? :D
On a serious note, have you tried it with multiple discs, or just one?

Upon further troubleshooting I think my computer just doesn't like the one CD. It reads the other disks I put in but not the one. The one CD is read just fine in another computer so I have no idea why it doesn't want to read just one CD.
