Title: Last day of the decade
Post by: STAMP on December 31, 2009, 02:18:09 PM
So what will you remember most of this first decade of the 21st century?

So what do you have planned or hope for in the coming decade?

For me, it is the close of my 5th decade.  It seemed to pass the fastest of all five except the 60's, in which I was only 5 when it ended.  What will I remember the most?  There are many possibilities: fishing with my family and friends, Redemption, the move back to Medford, the economic struggles, surviving my kids' teenage years, and many more.  But what I'll most remember is God revealing to me what has been and what is to come, and his loving Grace as I struggle to make the full transition to the man He wishes me to become to prepare for what is to come.  To put more succinctly, 2000-2009 was all about God's revelation to me (Philippians 1:21) and my struggles to prepare (Romans 7:7-25).

What do I hope for in 2010-2019?  In all I do give glory to God with Jesus Christ by my side!

This is the first full decade I have lived through, so I can't really compare it to anything else.

Seeing as I was born just before the 90s, that means I've lived through two decades so far.

First decade was the homeschool years... Truthfully, I dont remember a whole lot from then.
This past decade however, was when I really started to change, and became the person I am today. In 2000, I stopped being homeschooled, and that was a rough transition. However, over time, Im glad a lot of stuff happened the way it did, because I'm pretty happy with where I am in life now.

Bring on the next decade and everything it has to offer.   :)

So what will you remember most of this first decade of the 21st century?
From a spiritual perspective, it is the decade that God called me into full-time ministry.
From a personal perspective, it is the decade that all of my children were born in.
From a historical perspective, it is the decade when terrorism became a significant part of life in America.
From a technological perspective, it is the decade of Mars explorers, Ebay, Google, and Youtube.
From an entertainment perspective, it is the decade when the Lord of the Rings came to life.
From a Redemption perspective, it is the decade when FBtN was balanced, and pre-block ignore became unbalanced.
