What was the first Redemption set you saw released, or the first one you played with?

I remember Kings had just been released when I started playing, but I was afraid to get any at first because they said "Caution, for experienced Redemption players only," or something like that.

I got the original A/B starters in 1995 while I was living in Virginia Beach and I think Cactus was based right next door in Chesapeake. The starter was a gift from my mother-in-law who knew I liked playing cards. I had never heard of "trading card" games, so I put the starters in the closet and forgot about them.
In 1999, as a youth pastor, the junior highers starting playing Pokemon, so I did too. After thoroughly demolishing all their decks with my unbeatable Pokemon deck, I wondered if there was a Christian version of Pokemon. That's when I remembered the Redemption starter deck. I got online to order the latest release - the box that had all the cards ever released for $99. I played for a few months before we moved back to VA Beach following my father-in-law's heart attack. The cards went back into storage.
In 2006, as a teacher, my administrator asked me to get more involved by starting a club. After much deliberation, I decided to start a Strategic Games Club. Some of the students were Magic the Gathering fans, so I remembered Redemption again, got the cards out of storage and started getting caught up with new sets through eBay purchases.
I found the Message Boards in 2007 and have been on ever since. Thanks to the amazing Reyzen, I eventually became a tournament host.

The Shipwreckers started playing in summer of 2004, between the time that E/F and Angel Wars came out. :) It'll be 5 years strong in June of 2009!
-
I started playing in 1999, so Womens was the most recent expansion.

Since A/B limited, baby!
...sort of. My mom bought it for me for Christmas when I was six or seven, and I loved it to death. But eventually I ran out of people to play with (and didn't know that Redemption was expanding each year, much less where to buy it), so it got shelved. I found it right after FooF was released after cleaning out my closet, and have been playing ever since. :)

Yeah, the "new thing" was apostles. Yay for playing for a LONG time!
-
Since A/B.
-
Angel Wars was just released. Though, when I saw the booth, I think I bought more warriors packs then Angel Wars (That's right: they were still available for relatively cheap $5 a pack).
-
I started when the E/F had been around for a while. I would go to the store and see the womens packs and I'd be like "eww, all-women cards"
so ya :D
-
I remember thinking something similar about the Women packs.
-
Priests ;D

...And now you're a tournament host! :D
-
I officially started when kings had just been released, but I didn't start playing until E/F.

Hhaha I know. Where did the time go.
-
It seems like a lot of people started around E/F time!
-
Since A/B.
seriously? I think it came out before 1998, maybe earlier.... so that means, since you're twelve, you started at age 4?
-
Yeah, he hasn't been around that long. ::) He's the one who showed me the game, though....I think he's been around since C/D. Maybe that's what he meant.

I don't remember how old I was when my brother bought me my first women's pack. But I know it was when warriors were really super popular, and the only reason he bought me a women's pack was because I thought it'd be cool to have the 'girl' cards, or something like that. It's a rather vague memory. Let's just say I've been playing a long while.

'98 was when I started playing, haven't taken a big break since then.
