Gas has dropped dramatically in the past few weeks where I live--how about for everyone else?
-
same
-
its been less than $2 here in kansas city for about a month.
-
I wonder what all the people smugly driving around with "When Bush took office, gas was $1.46" bumper stickers must be thinking now.
-
yup,it $1.84 down in Troy IL. :P
-
1.89 in tyler texas
-
A month ago, gas was 3.29 at our sheetz.
Now... it's 2.07.
In Carlisle, where Vicki's from, a half hour north of Ship, it's 1.84 or something like that.
-
$1.89 now.
As of over $2.39 just a couple of weeks ago. And over $3.00 not long before that.
YAY! ^.^
-
In Reno, NV, it was about $4.00 about a month ago. Now, about $2.19. It is awesome.
-
It was $3.99 a month or two ago, now it's $1.99.
$2 drop!!!!
-
It's lowered, but I don't know how much.
-
last i checked it was $1.90 somethin.
-
It was 1.85 in the Twin Cities last time I checked
-
about 2-2.50.
-
Well Schaef, they will simply attribute the "change" in gas prices to Obama, I thought it had something to do with a reduction in consumption and a stronger dollar tho.
Gas is under $2 now, from a bit over $4
-
I think the price is down because of fear. Obama is taking the helm in two months, Pickens has a new book out, Gore is on the stump again. It's a bad, bad time to be an oil producing country. If they can't make people forget that 70% of their fuel comes from people who hate America, then they have to make the fuel cheap enough that fewer people care that their SUV's tanks are filled at the same time as Al-Queda's Ak mags.

+1

$1.99 in Orlando.
Frankly, I never thought I'd see less than $2 ever again. Usually when a threshold is reached, you never get to go back. With falling house prices and gas prices, there is actually hope for people like me to stay on budget and someday finally stop renting.
-
It's a significant drop for our family. Gasoline budget during the price apex = $400/mo, and only $200/mo now. That's $200 extra per month for groceries and clothes. :)
I guess we better take advantage of it now while our taxes are still low. ::)
-
$.96 a liter here.

SERIOUSLY!!!!??

-
Gas was almost 5 dollars in san deigo but now it is down to about 2.50
-
gass is about $2.25-90 now before it was $4+ in SoCal
-
1.69 in KC for an exact answer.
-
Best I've seen so far is $2.35... we're usually a bit slow with the prices falling. Probably will hit the $2 mark sometime next week.
-

YAY!
-

-
all these pyhco drivers and many, many other things.
Things like:
1. People in the passing lane who don't pass anyone.
2. Driving on grooved pavement in the rain in a construction zone with concrete barriers inches from your door while being passed by an eighteen wheeler.
3. Stopping for gas off the highway because you saw a sign for gas, but having to drive 15 miles on winding, unlit roads to find the station, only to find that it's closed when you get there.

That last one happens a lot in the no-mans land between Cincinnati and Columbus, along 71
-
How about these:
*Drivers with absolutely no grasp on the concept of how to merge into traffic...
*Bumper to bumper traffic because people are gawking at an accident...on the other side of a divided highway...
and our favorite here in MN...
*Driving in snow/freezing rain at night.
:P

Um, yeah, especially if you have a crappy car like mine with windows that fog so horribly the only way to defog is to have the heat on so hot that you're sweating in a T-Shirt.
-
My all-time favorite from when I lived in Clinton, IA, in the mid-80's:
You're driving down a city street with no stops. All the crossing streets have stop signs. It's the dead of winter and there is snow and ice on the streets. A car three streets ahead comes to the stop sign and stops, sees you and debates whether they can go or not. Remind you, it's three city blocks. They wait because they are not sure if they get stuck. They suffer with indecision. Then, when you are just about to their intersection they finally decide they think they can make it across without getting hit by you.
Yep, you learn mad drivin' skillz living the in the midwest. It helps me when I am out here in the west where NO ONE knows how to drive in the snow and ice. :D
[/quote]LOL,THAT happens ALL the time in Troy IL.
ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I've met very few people who think that other drivers in their area are good drivers.
-

I'm guessing 1/8 of the drivers in my town don't have their license.
Gas is 1.75 nearby
-
$1.71
-
$1.56-owned!
-
Gas is cheaper mainly as a result of the economic recession (yeah, big companies filing bankruptcy can be a scary thing...)
Just wait until December when OPEC has their quarterly meeting and they can discuss price hikes to stabilize the cost. They have very little control of prices at the moment because of the recession, but I expect that to change soon. Obviously it won't jump as high as it has been, but I expect between 2.50 and 3.00 around Christmas time. Not trying to be a pessimist, just a realist. (OH, and being a college student with no car makes it easier for me to come to terms with that reality)
-
It's a lot more than that. The slowdown is global, meaning reduced demand in China, which along with India has been one of the driving forces behind the rising cost of oil per barrel.
-
$1.69 yesterday!
2nd cheapest!
PREOWNED!!!
LOL!
-
$.79 a liter.
-
I think this is our one spark of hope in the economic crisis. If people can find a way to leverage this break, maybe we can start digging ourselves out.

Gas usually goes down right before a presidents end term. It'll go right back up

I wonder what all the people smugly driving around with "When Bush took office, gas was $1.46" bumper stickers must be thinking now.
Given that...

I'd imagine they're thinking that trashing the the global economy to lower gas prices is probably not such a good deal. :)
Those smug people are like that.
-

Really? Where did you hear that? I'm looking at http://www.randomuseless.info/gasprice/usa.txt and not seeing that at all. At most, there is a couple cents' difference between November of some election years and the following Januaries. Not the $2 drop we're seeing now.
-
AAA is predicting that the prices will continue to fall through the end of the year.
-
1.48, el oh el
-
Man, and I thought $1.52 was good here...
-
up here in manitoba Canada the gas is at 89.9 cents a litre this summer it was at 1.43 8)
-
Still $1.77 here in Orlando. Considering that it was $4.50 just a couple months ago, though, I'm not complaining. ;D

That sounds about right, it's consistent with their penchant for laying blame.

-
1.73
-
I knew Josh would know the exact amount : ) lol!

Since some people refuse to accept responsibility for their actions, laying blame is kinda thrust upon them.

The second half of your sentence is correct. The first half proves my point about political myopia.

I'm not sure how it proves your point, since I was joking. If I were serious, I would point to the "Clinton recession" (http://www.google.com/search?q=%22clinton+recession%22) which started a couple months after Bill Clinton left office and the "Obama recession" (http://www.google.com/search?q=%22obama+recession%22) that is occurring before Barack Obama even takes office.
I would also point to the silly url tags adding a bunch of spaces after they are closed. :)

The dot-com bubble peaked in March 2000 and declined for the next 18 months leading up to 9/11. If it's a Bush recession, it's a Clinton recession. Else, correctly, it's neither. Then there's also the matter of how you must point to pundits to find someone blaming one man for an international economy, whereas for me to find the same, I need only point directly at yourself.
That, and you have given zero indication of any humor in your previous posts. I'm a screen reader, not a mind reader.

1.93 is the cheapest I've seen... averages are around 2.00.

-
$1.43 9/10. Y'all must live close to civilization or something.
-
We're remote, but we're still at 2.29. But then, we don't have a sales tax here so the gas tax is higher.

Between all the Hollywood-connected strikes we've got that are draining billions, the expensive fires we just had, and the expected defense funding cuts by Obama's cronies, the Cal economy is already a bit shaky. The recession isn't bugging it as mush as it would for other areas. Also, four of the major Oil companies (Exxon, Chevron, Shell, Arco) have refineries within about 20 minutes' drive from my house, so the lower gas prices the other refineries get usually takes several days to make it to the areas serviced by our refineries. That being said, I saw a station at 1.79 earlier this week in Long Beach...
-

There is hope!! ;D
-
Well... I haven't been paying much attention to gas stations so i would say it's at 1.75. (In Mankato MN)

Where my family gets gas it is $2.27, but we have the card for it, plus buying stuff gets more money off a gallon. I think my brother got it around $2 or so.
-
It's $1.17 here (as of yesterday) although we're measuring in Canadian Dollars and Liters, which if my math (and unit conversions) are correct it's about the equivalent of $3.32 US per gallon.
