Best I've seen so far is $2.35... we're usually a bit slow with the prices falling.  Probably will hit the $2 mark sometime next week.

$1.81 and still falling

all these pyhco drivers and many, many other things.

Things like:

1. People in the passing lane who don't pass anyone.
2. Driving on grooved pavement in the rain in a construction zone with concrete barriers inches from your door while being passed by an eighteen wheeler.
3. Stopping for gas off the highway because you saw a sign for gas, but having to drive 15 miles on winding, unlit roads to find the station, only to find that it's closed when you get there.

How about these:

*Drivers with absolutely no grasp on the concept of how to merge into traffic...
*Bumper to bumper traffic because people are gawking at an accident...on the other side of a divided highway...

and our favorite here in MN...

*Driving in snow/freezing rain at night.

Um, yeah, especially if you have a crappy car like mine with windows that fog so horribly the only way to defog is to have the heat on so hot that you're sweating in a T-Shirt.

My all-time favorite from when I lived in Clinton, IA, in the mid-80's:

You're driving down a city street with no stops.  All the crossing streets have stop signs.  It's the dead of winter and there is snow and ice on the streets.  A car three streets ahead comes to the stop sign and stops, sees you and debates whether they can go or not.  Remind you, it's three city blocks.  They wait because they are not sure if they get stuck.  They suffer with indecision.  Then, when you are just about to their intersection they finally decide they think they can make it across without getting hit by you.

Yep, you learn mad drivin' skillz living the in the midwest.  It helps me when I am out here in the west where NO ONE knows how to drive in the snow and ice.   :D

I've met very few people who think that other drivers in their area are good drivers.

I'm guessing 1/8 of the drivers in my town don't have their license.

Gas is 1.75 nearby

Gas is cheaper mainly as a result of the economic recession (yeah, big companies filing bankruptcy can be a scary thing...)

Just wait until December when OPEC has their quarterly meeting and they can discuss price hikes to stabilize the cost. They have very little control of prices at the moment because of the recession, but I expect that to change soon. Obviously it won't jump as high as it has been, but I expect between 2.50 and 3.00 around Christmas time. Not trying to be a pessimist, just a realist. (OH, and being a college student with no car makes it easier for me to come to terms with that reality)

It's a lot more than that.  The slowdown is global, meaning reduced demand in China, which along with India has been one of the driving forces behind the rising cost of oil per barrel.
