Title: Fantasy Football 2013 Season: 2 Leagues?
Post by: Sean on June 22, 2013, 01:37:42 PM
Friends, I do apologize but I am going to have to step down from the league commish role.  I have too much on my plate right now as my family is moving to our new house.  I hope you all are able to get together and continue to have a fantasy football league.

First, I would love to join, but someone needs to explain to me how this works.  I've never done fantasy football.  Please enlighten me and I will let you know if I'm in or not!  Thanks all!

It works like this, there are players who play in the NFL.  Those players get touchdowns, catches, fumbles, interceptions, etc...  What fantasy does is to keep track of those stats and then award you points based on those stats.  For example, if a wide receiver catches a touchdown you get 6 points.  At the beginning of the season there is a draft where the whole league (each of us have our team in the league) and we pick whcih players we want on our team.  Each week during the season you go up against another person in the league.  Whoever has the most points each week gets a win similar to how an NFL team gets a win for getting more points.

You don't get an entire NFL team, rather, you get a team that consists of players from several teams. There is a draft that takes place a week or so before the NFL season starts, and every player drafts one player at a time. So you might get some 49ers, but you'll be competing with STAMP.

Please tell me if you would rather have 2 leagues or keep it with one league.  If you are new this year you won't be able to access the poll but PLEASE tell me by posting here or sending me a message.  All, please discuss any comments you have regarding the poll here on the message board.

I would suggest two leagues.  The potential 19 would be huge... if we do that, I would suggest maybe only 7 starting positions and 5 bench etc. I typically play in 10-12 player leagues, but would be up for anything  ;D. Just my two cents.

We had what, 18 or 19 in one league a couple years ago?  I personally had a lot of fun with that, but it's probably best to have two leagues at this point.
