Hey guys.
I made a comment on the shoutbox about modifying my card list spreadsheet that I often use, and it seems there is interest in this.
Basically, I started off using the Bany spreadsheet, but I decided to personalize it, clean it up, etc.
What I currently have for columns is this:
Name
Set
Color 1 (For dual brigades, I only list ONE color)
Color 2 (For dual brigades, the second color is listed here. ALL dual brigade cards are listed twice, with the brigade cells reversed)
Card Type
Strength
Toughness
Class
Rarity (Also used for Tin numbers)
Generic (Helps a LOT for 100+ or T2)
Ability
Identifiers (currently VERY incomplete, but I just list the important ones.)
Two more I'm considering adding, Testament for a quick sorting of OT/NT cards, and then another the reference. (as there's no easy way to sort through this)
How many of you would be interested in me uploading this once I finish my modifications? I'm trying to make this as informative and easy to search as possible without having ten thousand individual listings.
-
I am....my spreadsheet is very old and out of date. I, for one, will appreciate the work. :)
-
Okay, I have a question for you all:
When adding the Identifiers, I'm currently leaving out "Male" and "Human" due to how FREQUENTLY those are listed.
Would you rather see those two identifiers, or is it fine for me to leave them out? I'm keeping female, gender-less, demon, and angel... so right now you can just assume a character is a male human unless you see one of these other labels
-
I would, personally, love this. ^_^
I think leaving out human and male is fine.
-
Doesn't Gil still keep his URCL up to date?
-
I dislike how that one is set up. The Bany style list is much easier to read and sort through IMO. I'm just adding some details that were not in his to begin with.
-
I would love it!

Alright, here's a sample of what the FOOF2 cards, look like, completely updated. I sorted these by the reference to show how the books, while not in biblical order, do clump properly (and in the right order within books).
You can also see the way I duplicated each dual brigade card with the reversed brigades.
Is there anything you'd like to see added or changed?

I'd like to be able to sort cards by the categories of "Cards worth using", "Cards probably not worth using", and "cards never worth using/defense"
-
I would love a copy of this also !!

I'd love to have something like this!

FTFY.

Did you still have the column from Bany's spreadsheet for quanitities of cards? That's helpful for collectors/T2 Players.
-
No, I took that out as I never used it. I suppose it wouldn't be hard to add that column... as it's just a blank column that you just add a number into.

I would SO love to have something like this for the playgroup. Thanks so much.

I and I'm sure many others would appreciate it. Those of us who need multiples of cards especially.
Let us know if there's anything we can do for you. I know you don't have many/any physical cards, and wouldn't really have much of a use for them, but I feel like such an effort shouldn't go unrewarded.
-
It's getting to the point where they really need to be in a database.
-
One note, my class schedule is fairly busy this semester, so I can't exactly say when this will be done. I'll try to do it as quickly as I can due to the interest in the project.

I was already planning on doing this just for myself, so in a sense, I'm rewarding myself by finally doing it. :D There's also the fact that, like you said, while I do have a decent collection of cards... I have never even had a chance to use them. So, I've stopped collecting them until I get that chance.
Though... I can think of one possible reward.........
Being a playtester would be super cool... ;) (Hey, I can dream right?)

Well, that's not up to me, but I guess if Rob really likes the spreadsheet, you might have a chance...

I do know there's a way to export a spreadsheet to XML.

Or imported to SQL Server. ;) But it really needs some normalization first. ;D

Oh man, having it in SQL would be awesome. I would query that so much, as for me I'd love a copy.

The Spreadsheet is in a database. Redemption Connect!'s card browser pulls from it. There will be a collection manager and spreadsheet view to it in the coming months, so keep checking back. If it's desired enough, I may even make an offline program so you can manage and sync your lists between RC! and your computer.

If people are wondering about this spreadsheet, I still have it, but school kept me MORE than busy, lol.
-
I didn't mention this before, but to those who have this in database form, does anyone have it in XML?

The database has been optimized and normalized into multiple tables, but if you don't mind that i can export it for you. I can give either xml or sql, whatever you'd prefer
-
XML, please.
