I was wondering who are consider'd Elders and PTB(powers that be)? Is there an official list of those are in authority to call shots and decide how things are done and how things are ruled. Also what is the rule if 2 Elders say one thing and 2 Elders say something else. Is there someone that makes the call over them and do some Elders have more "weight" or authority than others? Thanks for the answers.
Daniel
;D

Theres a list somewhere. I'm too lazy to look for it. There are 14 Elders total I think (not sure of ptb), the ones I know off the top of my head are:
-Gabe Isbell
-Tim Maly
-Chris Bany
-Justin Alstad
-Jordan Alstad
-Mark Underwood
-Rob Anderson
-Mike Berkenpas
-Steven Schaefer
-Kevin Shride
If 2 say one thing and 2 say another, its up to the tournament host to decide (or ROOT management if its ROOT. An agreement between players if it isn't ROOT or a tournament). Some elders *cough cough Rob cough cough* will obviously have more authority, but really thats up to your discretion.
-
It takes a plurality of elders saying something to make it official (i.e. on a disputed ruling thread, it takes more than one elder saying something to make it official). There is no hierarchy in word, but in deed some elders are more reliable than others. Rob is the only person who is above the elders.
-
Alrighty, thanks guys. So I guess someone comes up with a rule'n question. 1 Elder says this is the answer. Another Elder agrees. So until some other elder chimes in, that is an offical final rule'n right?
Daniel
;D
p.s. Also I don't need AP Poll on the top ten elders haha, I was just wanting to see if others had more "pull". So I guess they're all equal except for Rob, but some can be more consistent in their decisions.
-
That's correct.

All Deadly, if spotted, do not approach, call the nearest local gameshop immediately.

I said that that he is like half an elder, or the equivalent of of half an elder. So if he were to clone himself and both clones agree, it would be taken as word of an elder. Not he is half-elder.
-
If someone's half-elder and half-newborn, does that mean they're a grad student?

but there would also be two halves that completely dont matter at all, so it would cancel the other two halves out.

Colin is the honorary Elder & Admin

You don't realize how much of a pain in the butt Colin was.

You're right. MKC didn't deserve a -1 since he said colon rather than Colin. I got MKC's post back to zero. Thank you for pointing that out.
-
speaking of Colin and the +-1 system, he was most respected when that stat died.
-
Showing exactly how accurate that system is.

You weren't even around when Colin was posting. He was, by far, the most respected person. Ever. A nice fellow, too.

Legend says otherwise. I feel a flashback coming on...

"I don't see why people are against it. It cleanses the world and is just plain beautiful to look at."
-Colin on Arson
(Okay, maybe he didn't say that. Who really knows, though?)

I went to open discussion and looked at a few Colin posts, and in all seriousness, I agree with Sauce. He generally didn't flame, and his logic, though a bit misguided from a "Christian" perspective, was very good. I respect that about him.
Ever might be going a bit too far, since Sauce is definitely the most respected person ever. ;)
-
He's liberal reformed Presbyterian now, in case anyone is wondering.
-
interesting. I became a fan of him on facebook, just to see if he'd post anything interesting.
on a side note, I have now found a spot when he was rude. I'm going to keep reading, I forgot how interesting these discussions were.

People should also bear in mind that some posts were removed from the board, so what remains of Colin's contribution will tend to be his more positive contributions, but not be representative of the whole.

Hi Schaef :D! is there a possibility of Colon being unbanned?
-
is there a possibility of Colon being unbanned?
I'm pretty sure there are medications you can get for that.

He used a capital C, so he was talking about the guy and not the organ. Therefore, in response to The Warrior's question, there is nothing that Schaef can do that will make Bartolo Colon unbanned in Cleveland.
-
Anytime you can get Bartolo Colon into a thread, I think it adds value to it.

Atlanta Braves, NY Giants, Miami Hurricanes Football, Duke Basketball, Cleveland Cavs
I'm curious as to why all of these are your teams. It obviously has nothing to do with where you're from, unless you've moved around a lot. Considering I'm a Twins, Vikings, Gophers Football (uffda), Gophers Basketball, Timberwolves (ok, so I really don't care too much about the NBA) Fan, it's pretty obvious where I'm from. You're just all over the place.

I've been a fan of each of these teams since about 1989 and maybe earlier. In WV, there isn't any pro teams, so you're forced to go outta state. And as far as college sports, you have 2 choices, Marshall or WVU and I chose to go outta state on my college sports too. Just was never into the locals because everyone had the same teams ( Bengals or Steelers, Reds, etc.) Although I did end up a cavs fan, but they weren't very popular haha. My brothers did the same thing and picked teams from different places. My mom bought me a Mark Price T-Shirt one day and from that time on I was a Cleveland Cavs fan. On vacation to NC, my uncle got me hooked on Duke basketball. The other three just kinda happened. Probably just watched them on TV and said one day, ok, that's my team. Not much to it. I do remember going to school as Ron Gant for Halloween though.
