Title: Diary of a Redemption Wedding...
Post by: TheMarti on June 19, 2009, 12:21:43 PM
By the Maid of Honor herself!

Anyway, hi guys. If you didn't know, Brad Coverdale and Gretel Long are getting married... well.. tomorrow. If you didn't know, Gretel (one of the original Shipwreckers) and Brad met at Nats 2006 in a crowded Pontiac Grand Prix (i.e.: Mine) and got engaged at Nats 2008 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0RUtnOWEvU# (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0RUtnOWEvU#)). I was asked to Maid of Honor, and have been helping with the process for several months now, from helping figure out the invitation list (trust me, that was a task), to getting dresses, talking for endless hours about the little technicalities.

This morning, I am sitting in the living room of my best friend from high school's apartment in Quakertown, PA. We're watching old episodes of Psych, and I decided to tell the Redemption world about the insanity that is the first wedding of two people who met through this awesome game.

Pre wedding:
On April 18, 2009, I had the bridal shower for Gretel. After planning it for a couple of months (while trying to do Graduate School), we had about 20 people come to the cafe of the youth room at my church. It was fun, Gretel got lots of stuff, etc.
We went to Knoebel's Amusement Park for the bachelorette party on Wednesday. Once again, was fun, although it poured all day, that meant there were no lines, and the rides were still running, so it was awesome. :)

I've been in Quakertown since Tuesday evening. It's been fun. Yesterday was my "day off" where I finally got my shoes (yay), and cut my hair. They got their marriage license and stuff yesterday to be signed on Saturday (I hope my signature is neat enough!). It was meant to be relaxing for all of us involved (except my "right hand" bridesmaid, who had to drive up to NY today and drive back today). I worked some (I'm working on a research project for my boss, and so I'm doing some work from home. Kelly (best friend from high school) and I have been enjoying our time together, watchin TV and hangin out.

Today, I leave at 1:15 to go over to the church to help with set up. Exciting, huh? I will have to do play by play for you all when I get back tonight... and then about tomorrow + pictures when I get them...
