So for the past 3-4 months I have been running off of a laptop due to my desktop going crazy. I bought a power supply for the desktop, nothing. I just recently bought a mother board.......still nothing...BUT while changing motherboards I took out my nice and purty nvidia graphics card and booted it up...something...it seems by some random events my graphics card shorted itself out *sniff you will be missed* but now my desktop is running and I decided to amp it up to really play games so I'm running a brand new nvidia card/2gbs of ram and a 500gb hard drive. I agree

I agree
I agree, but they are also much more versatile than a consol
-
They're the most expensive, i'll give you that. They used to be the best back in the counter-strike days, but now, consoles are better imo. Starcraft2 might have changed it some though, don't know.

I'll switch to a console once I can:
alt-tab to my homework
print
chose what software I'll use
build my own
have a cushy job fixing them wherever I want
type
easily play games from a previous generation.

In my personal finance class, we're pretty much required to do everything on the computer, and the computers they have in the classroom are laptops. I hate typing on them.

thats cool if you want to multi-task. console users obviously only want to play games.

Xbox live selling movies, tv shows, etc. says what?

So, if thats the target demographic, then I guess the target demographic doesn't just want to play games.

I still say PC is the best. If a PC multiplayer has dedicated servers, I can almost guarantee it's a better experience than Xbox random matchmaking.
Also, PCs are far more capable graphically... so the visuals look far better. PCs almost always have the option to apply Anti-Aliasing to smooth out the pixelated edges, something consoles SERIOUSLY lack.
Then theres the ability to pop up a browser window (if you use steam, you can do this right in the middle of a game) to look up anything you need on the spot.
Then theres the huge catalog of games, and quite a few exclusives. Even some super old ones are still worth playing: See - Deus Ex.
PC is the way to go.

Sometimes it's not a question of what you want.
Personally, I work better multitasking than single tasking.
