For those of you who have played for a while you may remember me. My previous account was NWJosh, but anyways I am back because I am working in Children's ministry again and thinking about starting a Redemption playgroup. I am looking for some help in two ways. First what have I missed? The last time I really played was at the National Tournament when it was hosted in California. I don't even remember what year that was.

Second thing is since I haven't played for a while I am not even sure if I have enough cards to make starter decks and there are no Christian stores in the area, and the ones I can drive to don't sell Redemption cards anymore. So is there any play groups or players who would be willing to help me out with cards to build starter decks if I choose to play again and start a group. The kids I've talked with were all interested in playing at this point so I am thinking I will end up starting again. Plus my wife gave me permission.

A new set came out last year called The Early Church. In it was a new good brigade called Clay.

CA Nats was 09, right?

There has been several new sets since then including a new starter deck that is perfect for teaching beginning players. The I/J starters focus mainly on the battle phase as there are no Sites or Artifacts (though they do introduce territory-class enhancements).

If you do decide to start up a playgroup, I would recommend starting by obtaining some of those starters.

I agree with Justin that the new starter decks are a GREAT way to teach the game and get kids started. As for getting a bunch of other cards, Ken is currently doing a deal where you can get almost every card in the game for a great deal.

I may have a single box of cards left but having moved three times in the past 9 months my wife isn't sure if they made it through all the moves. So pretty much from scratch. Things like lost souls, SoGs, AotL and basic cards like that I will need to help make decks along with the usual cards for deck building. I have a small group already interested and I haven't even talked with the youth group or the majority of the kids at my church. So I guess I can say I'm officially back now.

It is fun seeing names I recognize still on the boards. I can say I kind of missed this game and the interaction with players.
