Title: College Pranks
Post by: Warrior_Monk on September 06, 2012, 03:27:14 PM
So my roommates and I were bored in the dorm, and decided we would be the most unsuspecting pranksters for our hall. Naturally, we want to prove everybody wrong, so we've been trying to think of some pranks.

We're looking for things that preferably won't be too expensive (but the sheer size of the hall tends to make things $100-$300) and we won't get in trouble for even if we do get caught.

So far we plan on posting pictures of David Hasselhoff everywhere, filling styrofoam cups up with water and covering the entire floor with them, and putting wrapping paper over everybody's door.

And we plan on doing this on a random weekday so nobody will be up and around, so hopefully they also won't cause too many problems (like the styrofoam one undoubtedly would do).

Ideas?

Put Crisco/Grease on doorhandles.

Hide alarm clocks in the ceiling tiles that go off every day at random times.

More when I think of them.

*EDIT*

Post ponies everywhere in the hall.

You know... You should know who to talk to about college pranks already, just PM Wild Bill. ;)

You're not supposed to have fun in the dorms. Or maybe that's just here.

I don't know if I can share any of them having repented for all the panty raids, wastebaskets full of water leaning against doors, locking people in rooms with pennies, jello in shower nozzles, shaving cream under the door, shoe polish on toilet seats, upside-down bunk beds, bottle rockets, roman candles, lasers from the science department pointed at drunks coming back from the bars, wet underwear in freezers, dissected frogs controlled by fish line, locking car tires to the street with buckets of water in winter, surprising sunbathing coeds with buckets of water from the roof of the dorm in the spring, etc..... Just make sure once they start to suspect you, that you hire someone to do a prank while you have a great alibi.

Cover a door in Hand sanitizer and then light it on fire.

Attach a wire on a timer to a bit of steel wool to go off in the middle of the night when you're sleeping elsewhere. It'll create enough heat to set off the alarms without posing any threat of an actual fire, and everyone will have to wake up and go outside.

Make cookies and give them to people on your floor, but purposely don't use any sugar.

Somehow I don't think that'd go over very well if we got caught. Setting off a fake alarm is illegal...

But it's an awesome idea. I just don't think we could get away with it...

Take people's mattresses and put them in stairwells, and make up the bed frame as if the bed were still on it.
When you leave for a weekend, set your alarm to go off and put it on the loudest setting.
If you have an empty room on your hall, or in your dorm, take all of someone's stuff and move it into that room and set it up exactly like it had been.
Make mobiles out of hangers, belts and odds and ends in some room, and hang it from the ceiling.
Make sculptures out of random stuff in the room.
If someone has multiple boxes of cereal or crackers switch the bags within the boxes.
Tie doors that are across the hall from each other together while the occupants sleep. (make sure its tight, and the string doesn't stretch)
Spiderweb a room.
Plastic wrap across the door frame.
TP a room.
Fill someone's room with balloons.
Hide all the left shoes except for one. (But it would have to be a cleat, or really nice dress shoe, something obnoxious)
Short sheet beds.
Put sticky notes all over everything.
I have done pretty much all of these. There are others that I can think of, but not that could be done in secret.

Post ponies everywhere in the hall.

That would make ANY hallway 20% Cooler.

85% of the things suggested would get you in trouble in any modern dorm. If it involves fire, you'll get in trouble. if it involves the possibility of bodily harm, you'll get in trouble. They take things way too seriously nowadays.

I guess I didn't read the thing about still being ok even if you did get caught. In that case, I recommend don't prank. Seriously, if you get caught doing anything, your odds of no repercussions are slim-to-none. When I was away at school I did enough stuff to probably get 20+ years all told, but the key is never getting caught.

When I was in college I sneaked into the other guys dorm and tied string onto door nobs of doors that were across the hall from one another so they couldn't get out of their room.

Replace the Lucky Charms in the dining hall with Mashmallow Mateys.

Get a kiddy pool fill and put it in someone's room then add tons of jello mix to it so when they return they will have to take it out the door one cup full at a time until the pool is empty so they can get it back out the door without jello going everywhere.

I snuck into a guys room while he was sleeping and swapped his light bulb with a black light and I beat hmm with girls stockings filled with baby powder and sprayed baby powder into the air. Before he knew what was going on I ran out the door and turned the black light on leaving him in white fog.

Instant Ceiling Leak...

Get plastic tubing (the thin flexible kind you use to siphon water from aquariums). When your target is out at classes or whatever--slide the tubing under his door so it is near the middle of the room.  Pour in a half cup of water or so.  Remove the tubing.  Repeat on following days.
