Title: Book Recommendation
Post by: CactusRob on March 02, 2009, 07:02:20 PM
One of our long time Redemption players, John McNichol has published a novel.  http://www.amazon.com/Tripods-Attack-Young-Chesterton-Chronicles/dp/1933184264 (http://www.amazon.com/Tripods-Attack-Young-Chesterton-Chronicles/dp/1933184264)

John sent me a copy of the book early last fall.  I was busy and had many other books on my reading list ahead of it.  So, it got placed on the bottom of a stack and then forgotten.  I just uncovered it last week and began reading.  John is my friend and sadly I was reading it so that if he asked about it I could at least say, I read it and offer some polite comments on his work.  Well, I certainly underestimated John's talents as a writer by a great deal.  This book is wonderful!  I will let you read the description at Amazon and reviews there and at other sites.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book.  It's a very nice bonus that a friend of mine wrote it.  Some of you may have met John when he helped me at the Origins Game Convention in 1998 and 1999.  He is a great person and it's a delight to see him having success as a writer.  It's the first book in a series and I can't wait for the next installment.

sounds interesting! I might just buy this book... though, the title for the link was odd... Tripods attacking some guy named chesterton?... glad the review cleared it up.
