Play Redemption seems like an obvious one.

Less obvious would be to find someone who has a need and fill it.  Maybe there's an old person on your block who needs their lawn mowed.  Maybe there's a friend how failed a class and could use some help understanding it the 2nd time around in summer school.  Maybe there's a little kid on you street who also is bored and doesn't have anyone to play with.  You could teach them to ride a bike, or toss a ball, or once again play Redemption :)

Read the entire bible through. If you are really bored, read it backwards (that will present alot of interesting new card Ideas), or just pick a book of scripture that is obscure (to you, like Haggai or something like that) and really study it out. The summer will be over before you know it.

pshh... where I live, all u need to do is say give me the money because bank policy dictates that the teller comply. I recommend that. U request vip treatment though as well. All you have to do for that is say, "and no dye pack."  But you better at least tithe on it though. :-)

if you are a fan of fiction like myself here are some books that will keep you on edge and make u think about God from a different angle:

Black (Circle Trilogy)
Red (Circle Trilogy)
White (Circle Trilogy)
Heaven's Wager [all by Ted Dekker]

This Present Darkness
Piercing the Darkness (sequel)
The Oath [all classics by Frank Peretti]

The Shack [amazing book by Paul Young. you will never see God the same way again!]

i don't know how old you are, but the books i would put at 13+ for an age range. they are quite gripping even if you are older as well.

   other suggestions are:
1. thinking of a crazy Redemption strategy (like discarding someone's whole deck, which was by the way do-able until some cards got their special abilities tweaked)
2. learn a skill (i learned how to juggle with a book a couple of summers ago)
3. read a familiar story in the Bible (like the book of Jonah) and find details you overlooked or took for granted
4. get a girlfriend (though if you end up doing that you can ignore everything i just posted because then you will have to get a job. and then you will spend most of the money at your job buying that special something for her and the rest is tithe. then you will find yourself busier and busier until you can't even play Call of Duty in peace because your skype keeps telling you that she keeps sending you messages. and once that happens you will find that time has simply vanished off the face of the earth, and u know this to be true because you are caught in the endless cycle of work, talk to your girlfriend, sleep, work, etc. then you will wonder why you ever started this thread that lead to this insane post...no but seriously don't tell my girlfriend...i was just kidding, love!!! ;) Godly, caring women are always worth it! anyways...what was this thread about?)
                                                                                                                                                                                                                             God Bless!
                                                                                                                                                                                                                             marc = )

Sooooooooooooo at the mo i don't really want, or need a girl. Two its not worth it to get one especially if your not going to make a life long commitment, and i think it would just be better to become friends with a girl I liked and get to know her better to make sure she was the right one.

i was mostly joking about that one. if you like an exciting fiction i highly recommend those books. you ought to be able to find most of them at a nearby library.

[to SomeKkittens:] i didn't mean to give anyone the wrong impression. i've had a healthy relationship with my girlfriend for almost 2 years and we haven't so much as kissed. we have mentors and people we're accountable too as well. however if you have anything i am more than humble enough that i would accept your offer. i certainly won't say that i know everything.

The Shack [amazing book by Paul Young. you will never see God the same way again!]
on a side note, I hated The Shack. on another note, it's a very biased book and I suggest that whoever reads it has their beliefs solid before reading it. and keep in mind it's fiction. things like the "no-hierarchy" of God go against the Bible. there were other things I disagreed with.

the rest are good (although I haven't read Heaven's Wager or Piercing the Darkness), but you failed to add Obsessed, Green, and Blink to the Ted Dekker books.

But what I said I wasn't joking much easier at my age. But you should see all the fake relationships in my school they last for like a month.
terribly sad, i know. i see people jump literally from one broken relationship from the next every few weeks. its refreshing to see someone who is willing to find the right one instead of hopping from one girl to the next hoping that it will last. not that i would know, this is still my first (and hopefully last ;))

[to Ring Wraith:] i must say that the first time reading the Shack i was a little skeptical. but, like most everything else, it needs to be taken with a grain of salt. the most important theme of the book was the kind of relationship that God intends for us. it put God on a far more personal level for me (which changed a lot of my views toward God because i live in a very legalistic house). in simpler terms, i have an easier time seeing God as my Dad (which i never had) instead of a Judge (which i grew up only understanding Him as). secondly...I CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT BLINK AND GREEN!!! although i personally recommend reading Green after the other three. Obsessed was very good too, but the others are my favorites.

[to SomeKittens] PM sent.

Ditto(ish).  It's a good book for those dealing with Theosophy (Why God allows bad things to happen), but otherwise, it's fiction.

After Black, Red, then White, I would recommend Showdown, Saint, then Sinner, followed by "The Lost Books 1-6," and then finally Green (All are basically connected, but Showdown ties the Paradise Novels and the Serial Killer Series together.  To add a different twist, I would recommend Skin, House (By both Tedd Dekker and Frank Peretti), Boneman's Daughter, Thr3e, and the rest of Dekker's Serial Killer Thriller Series.  Btw, Thr3e and House have been made into movies. About Serial Killers, but not necessarily tied to the Paradise Novels.

Dekker and Peretti are phenomenal Christian Fiction writers.  Their stories are woven more as Parables, so they tend to keep all audiences interested.

Now that we're not together, I am SOOOO glad I refrained. While I hope your relationship lasts longer than mine did, if it doesn't, I can assure you won't regret your choice to not kiss. Keep going strong! :)

as much as I am a Ted Dekker fan, I really didn't think all those books were incredible. I liked Saint, but The Lost Books series was only for making Green better. Paradise Novels fell flat with Sinner. Skin was good until the twist. hated that.

True, Sinner was a bit of a disappointment.  The reason I recommend all of them though is because each book (Besides the Serial Killer Series) contains little pieces of information about the characters and helps provide more background.  Such as in the case of Billos/Billy.  The only real connection with the Serial Killers is the names of the killers and something Marsuvees Black mentions about there being others like him.  I just love the complexity of how Dekker has written these stories.  Btw, Burn is an extremely disappointing book for Dekker fans if you haven't read it already.  I haven't finished it and I've had it since it came out.  Yeah, the twist in Skin was a bit annoying.

On a side note, I once worked in a Family Christian Bookstore, and I got my copy of Green 1 day before it was released...  So many good perks when working at a store like that.  Too bad I am horrible at promoting items I've never bought/used, otherwise I might still be working there!

Agreed.  I loved that book.  I went on vacation with my family in Junior High (in 1987 I think) and read that book straight through.  I do remember being a little jumpy when walking in the dark for the next day or two, though.  :)

I work 35-38 hours a week, without counting getting ready and driving distance, I stay pretty busy. But before work I go work out practically everyday. I try to work out 5 days a week. You have more energy throughout the day, and feel better overall. I saw you said you're 13 though, so this might not be the best option. I would call friends and find things to do, the summer goes by too quick so get outside while you can, and hang out with your friends.

Working out is a good solution because I do a lot of sports but the problem is that I would do only for about an hour a day so that's only one thing to do. I try to hand out with friends but for some reason I'm one of the only people in my town that's not busy. :P

I'm confused about your post some kittens, your saying I don't shower enough so people don't hang out with me. If you are and its supposed to be a joke its not funny. Next time try and come up with something original. And by the way I meant that people are always on vacation so no one is around to hang out with.

I absolutely loved it, I locked my self in my room for a day and a half and read it straight through

Oh, that's no fun.  Then it's over with.
I probably would have done that if I weren't reading three other books and having a massive summer schedule.

Oh, that's no fun.  Then it's over with.
But if I stop it's no fun because I don't know how it ends

Heck, he could have kept writing about Greatwinter for all eternity.
