Title: 2010
Post by: BubbleBoy on April 09, 2010, 10:27:43 AM
I just recently went to look at unread posts, and all three of them contained 2010 in the title...you know, we're not even halfway through the year...

Too bad the world ends in 2012.

Actually, new research has shown that the Mayans prediction was misinterpreted, and it actually is that the world will end in 2212. I, however, think the world will end much sooner than that.

This was supposed to be the Year We Make Contact.  Someone get John Lithgow on the phone and find out if he's talked to any giant black rectangles lately.

Really? May I ask why you liked it? I thought the acting was horrible, second only to the storyline.

This is pretty true. I think the only real good thing about this was the graphics, and the constant escaping from destruction is a plus to many people. You know...I'm not sure why I liked it at all...:P

I don't understand this post. are you saying the Mayans contradict scripture? your "but then again" is what's confusing.

I see, so scripture tells us that the world is not going to be destroyed in 2012/2212?

Your expectations were high?  You do know this was a Roland Emmerich film, right?  Same director of 10,000 BC and The Day After Tomorrow?  And Godzilla?

Yes, they were. I saw the part where the monk goes up the mountain, and I was immediatly excited to see the movie. I did kind of like Independance Day, though...

This is if the end doesn't begin (yes, I said the end begins - it makes sense, okay) before then, which is possible.

I think Matthew 24:36-37 (and context) is the general passage we're looking for, but I thought there was something else in Revelation as well...

day and hour it says. it says nothing about the year. so it's still plausible that it'd be 2012 2212

oh, and I don't believe the Mayans are right, I just like to debate and try to get people to use scripture when they say things.

well, that's your opinion...
honestly, if somebody said "I know when the world is going to be destroyed! Tomorrow!  :o" every day of his life, then God would be sitting up in Heaven saying "awww, that guy is at it again. I might have to smite him so somebody won't guess right.

Maybe God will give us a customary two week notice of the end of the world...
wyn.

Too bad we don't go by the OT law in regards to stoning a false prophet. I bet all of these so called predictions would slow down quite a bit if people knew wrong prophecies were met with a big pile of stones...  :o

I'm not claiming to predict. I'm trying to challenge RED to use scripture to back up what he's been told. right now, I believe that Lucifer is Satan, but I am looking into that claim as well, and can see it going either way.

On a more serious note, I think the world just might be a better place if we did go OT on those who keep predicting the end of the world
