Firstly, what exactly happened in this verse.
Secondly, why does Angel at Jerusalem destory an Assyrian?

Secondly, why does Angel at Jerusalem destory an Assyrian?
Are those questions supposed to be related?  Angel at Jerusalem has a reference of II Chronicles 32:21.  If you read that chapter I think it will be very clear why he discards an Assyrian.  In fact you might wonder why he doesn't discard more.  ;)
