Title: Witch of Endor
Post by: Josh on January 26, 2013, 12:00:12 PM
This randomly came to mind.

Witch of Endor
7/8 Pale Green magician
(Same verse)
"If the top card of your discard pile is not a dominant, place it beneath deck.  If it is an OT male human, put it in territory instead.  Cannot be negated."

This would make cards like A Soldier's Prayer more interesting because there would actually be a point to shuffling your discard pile. Pretty cool overall. I'd probably use it.

There already is a point in shuffling your discard pile, you aren't allowed to look at any cards in it except the top one.

Is it just me, or is that rule kinda goofy?

You and your opponent have both seen every card that gets discarded, why aren't you allowed to browse through it to refresh your memory of what cards you've discarded?

It forces people to become better players and knowing what has already happened. "What did I get rid of with desecrate the temple?" "Has he already used AotL." A lot of games can be determined by knowing what your opponent has already used.

I meant more of looking at your own discard pile.

Its a rule that dates back to Magic and its one of those rules every game just has... it really is a stupid rule.

In MTG there are only 2 formats that done allow you to rearange your graveyard. You can look just not shuffle or mix. All other formats you can look and rearange all you want. Why the change? They stopped making cards that have to do with the order your cards are in the discard pile.

On a side note would someone be so kind as to show us the rule stating you cant look through your discard pile? I have been told many times over the years that you arent allowed to do this but I have never actually found this rule in the Rule book, REG or Tournament Guide saying you cant ::)
