Title: Watchman!
Post by: Ironisaac on February 27, 2016, 10:52:11 PM
The Watchman! one of the first cards i got outside of the starter deck, when i was new enough that i only picked cards if they were "cool looking" :P but, in all seriousness, he needs a reprint. so heres my idea of him. feed back welcome!

Interesting idea. I think the first ability does too much. Especially since you can look at their hand then choose your own character for them to block with. They don't even have a way out of it. I do like Christmas brigades though. :)

I did the brigades because he is a prophet and a warrior class guy. i thought it would be more fun if you could fit him into more decks, or give old decks more variety.

Yeah. I've always wanted to see stuff that allowed more brigade diversity for decks. I guess I just worry about abilities making some combination too powerful. And I guess warrior class too. It seems like every time a new idea comes out for a warrior class card it has red or is silver. Kinda ruins the idea of warrior and weapons class a bit. It say red fits the watchman though.

I love everything about this card. Everything except it is waaaaay to over powered :)

Yeah, if anything it should be "Discard a card from your hand to choose an EC to block" and even that's still pretty good.

Thats way awesome. I think you could even upgrade it to this! .... or underdeck an evil enhancement from hand to....

I feel like this is a good balance. I feel we should make several more choose the blocker cards. But only a few where there is a price to doing it, like this! Easily put in a variotion of deck types yet still amazingly versatile and powerful!

I still think its too good of a ctb. There is literally no limitation on the type or who owns the evil character. Honestly I don't think he should be ctb. Red already has jael  and asahel and this is way better as is. I like the look at hand aspect. I'd prefer something like or look at top x of deck and you may put them back on top or bottom in any order. With x equal to the number of opponents evil brigades. Just something more watchman like to me. Still cool card and ideas.

I agree that Red specifically doesn't need another CtB Hero.

Maybe something like:

"Look at opponent's hand. You may exchange this Hero with a good Prophet in your territory."

Also, being "The Watchman" he would be considered unique.

I do agree that red already has quite a few but my arguement to it would be that unlike the others this has a cost in order to choose it.

For V2, if it were to choose an Evil Character in opponent's territory to block I think it would be OK. Currently you can choose your own every turn and that's probably too good.
