Title: Tyre, Marketplace of Nations
Post by: Deck Metrics on September 06, 2010, 10:27:49 AM
Isaiah 23:3
And by great waters the seed of Sihor, the harvest of the river, is her revenue; and she is a mart of nations.

Fortress

If a player has a Good purple brigade King, or Banks of the Nile in a territory when you play this card, that player draws a card.  During each player's upkeep, that player may draw X -1. If a Green Prophet or a Greek wins a battle, discard this card.

x = the number of player's evil brigades in play, limit 4. (note the number of evil brigades reflects many nations)

Sihor is also called the Nile in: Isa 23:3 & Jer 2:18

Mart comes from the Hebrew word "סחר" pronounced "saw-khar" meaning merchandise or profit or gain from merchandise; an emporium. (or Marketplace)

During King David's reign, Israel & Phoenicia entered into a friendly alliance.

The Phoenician city was conquered by Alexander the Great in 332 B.C. and its destruction was prophesied by many prophets (Isa 23:1; Jer 25:22; Ezek 26; 28:1-19; Amos 1:9, 10; Zech 9:2-4).

This would be useless against a deck with only one evil birgade. I also think that the purple birgade kings already have a fortress that actually does something. Other than that I like the idea.  :)

Your opponent won't benefit if he/she were only playing with one brigade.

UP'd.

Throne of David is situational (even this one, but more likely). This is also mutual for all players and the odds are more in favor of drawing a card not to mention the fact you get to draw at your upkeep way before your battle phase.

what marketplace and do you think its overpowered? Not sure if UP'd was supposed to be OP'ed.

I don't think there is another marketplace. I looked it up on Redemption Wiki and there wasn't one.
