nice... wait, I think Jews can eat pork... maybe not... i thought they can eat meat, just not with cheese. idk, im confused!!
Only with cheese? :D That makes no sense.
Jews (that observe the rules, many don't) cannot eat pork (pigs).

Both of those rules are true.
They can't eat things that don't chew cud and have hooves that are split in half.

They can't eat things that don't chew cud and have hooves that are split in half.
This sounds confusing the way it's worded, so I will clarify by saying that they can only eat animals that both chew cud and have a two-sided hoof.
-
I just want to make sure no one thinks that Jews have hooves. ;)

That isn't the same thing... ;)

As one who keeps "Biblically Kosher", You are right that Pork is off the menu. As are all animals that do not BOTH chew the cud and have a Fully Split hoof. Also off the dinner menu are shellfish and all fish that don't have fins AND scales.
The Meat and Dairy thing is an interpretation of 3 passages of scripture that say "you shall not seeth (boil) a kid (young goat) in it's mothers milk. This was a pagan fertility practice in that time and was forbidden to all who worshiped the true God. The leaders of the Israelites extended this to their daily diets to avoid accidentally breaking this command.

No clam chowder then? :(
-
No problem, I currently hold the unofficial title of local Kosher Police around here. And clam chowder has always been off my list (just gross). I do enjoy a good chicken stew though.
I also think Gohanick's card Idea is Perfect.
If you want more info on animals that are on either side of the eat/don't eat list, check out Leviticus 11.

Dude, jews pwn!
Jesus was Jewish, and He rode dinosaurs.
-
I may be showing my age here, but what does pwn mean?

I may be showing my age here, but what does pwn mean?
I'm not sure where it comes from, but it basically means to dominate. Like...own...but without any vowels. :P

Pwn comes from the word own, which is a type of win : the oppisite of fail

You're pwning the vowels ;)

Yeah, I had to look up a couple of the animals cuz I wasn't familiar with them, always a good read though. Heck, go read all of Leviticus, now. That wasn't a request! WHY ARE YOU READING THIS INSTEAD! ;)
