Title: The Way of Man
Post by: hi123 on May 16, 2010, 07:33:39 PM
Evil 2/2 PG Enhancement----Discard any hero in battle, beside an angel. Cannot be negated.

Book---Proverb's, "there is a way that seem's right to a man, but its end is the way of death"

And, Stefferweffer, did I get the verses word's right?  I think I did, but I am not sure!  ;)

A couple of things:

1) It's kind of cliched/OP'd. There should be no more generic discarders that are CBN without a cost, IMO. Also, we have plenty of cards that do the same thing (though without the CBN) so it's not terribly exciting.

2) The wording is a little off. "Discard a human hero in battle" would work just fine.

Yes, I agree on we have many of thoose types of cards. But, PG is weak. The only Good Evil E's PG has, is Death of Unrightous, Achan's Sin, and .... Not much else, besides the capture cards, which can be so easily negated.

Misuse of Talents is another decent PG enhancement.

PG is strong enough for T2. this card would make 2K horses a billion times better too...it is pretty bland though.

I believe it is, but negates are almost always useful :P  It seems like most brigades only have 1 each.

Pale Green actually has some of the best enhancements. Two Thousand Horses is possibly the best EE in the game. Forgotten History is pretty high on the list too. Then the plethora of Captures and ways to make them CBN round out the list.

Pale Green's biggest problem is it's lack of initiative. The lowest character among its two "cultures" (Magicians and Assyrians) is Astrologers, at 3/3, and the next lowest is Assyrian Archer at 3/5. Most usable characters are 6/7 or higher. Also the fact that it hasn't received a ton of help in the past few sets. (Magicians are good, but typically are best used in combination with other colors). That is why PG doesn't see a lot of play lately. But I have an Assyrian defense that does pretty well still.

That said, a brigade needing help is no excuse for making a boring, OP'd card. It should get help, but it should be done more creatively than the proposed card IMO.

how about

capture a hero in battle, to choose the hero that the rescurer uses this turn.  Good forts have no effect for the remainder of battle phase.

this allows for some extra manipulation and isn't just an extra capture card.
