Light & Darkness are big themes in the Bible.
Imagine a new mysterious race called the Shadow...lol, got your attention? Ok ok,I actually looked up verses on shadows and shade and there's a lot and they can be used to design good & evil cards. Now I'm thinking of Light, I'm sure there's lots of verses on that too.
Jeremiah 48:45
"In the shadow of Heshbon The fugitives stand without strength; For a fire has gone forth from Heshbon And a flame from the midst of Sihon, And it has devoured the forehead of Moab And the scalps of the riotous revelers.
Psalms 91:1
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

You know what I mean. As far as the color, not sure. Black and Grey are already taken lol.

And just on another note, Redemption doesn't take much license with the Bible, so there won't be any demon races or subgroups or anything like that.

Not such a bad idea IMHO. Don't know whether even other concepts might be introduced (like the newly added tossing - which I personally really don't like). For example within MtG (I played it years ago) I remember that there has been the shadow ability. Creatures having it (good or evil ones) can only be blocked by other creatures which are having shadow ability too. Maybe concepts like this (or flying) can also be introduced into Redemption - of course in an appropriate adjusted form which fits into Redemption and the biblical context.
