Here are a few new ideas I've been batting around with my play group...we think they could add a lot of new strategy to the game, but we havn't really play tested them yet...any input/criticism from you guys would be much appreciated.
Traits - Traits are special abilities represented by a single word on the card, and cannot be negated. Example: (Inspired – Character may play enhancements with a reference from any book they wrote regardless of brigade.)
New rule - After you deck out, during your upkeep, you must remove a card in your Territory or Set aside area from the game. This could end stalemates, and limit speed decks some.
Secondary Victory Condition - When you no longer have any Evil Characters in your Hand, Deck, or Territory, you loose the game
Card ideas –
David
Green/Red/Purple
10/3
Warrior Class, Musician, Prophet, Royalty.
Protected from Philistines.
Can use enhancements that have David in the Title or Reference, or Involve Music, regardless of brigade. Cannot be Negated.
Gideon
Red/Gold
6/4
Warrior Class, Judge
3 times per game, holder may shuffle his hand into deck to search deck for a good dominant and then draw X. Cannot be negated. (X = # of Good Judges you control, Max 3)
The Law – Curse
0/6
Black/Grey
Negate all special abilities on NT heroes. Cannot be negated.
False Religion – Evil Territory Enhancement
Multi
Place in your land of Bondage. Protect blank Lost Souls from rescue, except by a Dominant or by a blank Hero.
OT Lost Soul – Can only be rescued by a Dominent or by an OT hero
Male Lost Soul - Can only be rescued by a Dominent or by a Male Hero
Warrior Lost Soul - Can only be rescued by a Dominent or by a Warrior Class Hero

Gideon
Red/Gold
6/4
Warrior Class, Judge

Angel under the oak makes Gideon bullet proof. We don't need one with a good SA.

That is extremely OP for Asahel24601's reason and that if you shuffle him in for a Dom you can use one of the 2 new angle to get him back out and do it again.
-
Good input! However, He wouldn't get shuffled, just your hand... I was trying to create an ability that represented his 3 miraculous tests....I hadn't considered the angels tho... your right...to OP...thanks!

I like the deck out rule and the secondary victory

John Elia is on the boards!!!!!!!!!
It's Clayton, welcome to the boards.
I've also been saying this for a while. David needs to be white.
-
I really like the idea of traits. It would help simplify SAs, and wouldn't be that confusing.
-
Secondary Victory Condition - When you no longer have any Evil Characters in your Hand, Deck, or Territory, you loose the game
I'm not totally against alternate win conditions, but how would a player know that there are no ECs left in their opponent's hand/deck/territory?
-
Make Gideon and The Law negatable, then your all set. both of those need to be negatable. Otherwise can be overpowered. All i need it a golden calf and the law, and covenant with death AND confusion of mind... Youll never get to use your special abliities on your heroes... ever. It just wouldnt be fair.

The Law should be CBN. There's a reason all the (real) examples you suggested are CBN.

I like the new rule. Every turn I remove one of my lost souls :)

David shouldn't be reprinted. Any accurate reprint of david would horribly over powered. He is powerful enough to make Bravery CBN. AoCP, Valley of Salt, Bravery, and so much more pre-block is way to good. He should at least negate play abilities.
-
My idea for David is to have 4 reprints, each highlighting one of the 4 aspects of his life. You can see my ideas in the submission thread.

This isn't bad at all, but I would still like him the first 4 color character that would end up negating HT in some way.

so those ideas just encourage a splash of BoD & a couple red characters into Musicians/Prophets decks? David the Giant-slayer also makes Sam even stronger.

I wasn't aware Musicians/Prophets decks were a thing.

Good question....I was hoping it would be on your honor to admit when you were of of evil chars..am I being naive? Another possibility could be to reveal your number of EC's before the match starts....but that's not ideal.... Any suggestions?

Sorry, I meant Musicians and Prophets as separate offenses.

well I'm sure most people would admit to running out of ECs, but it would be very easy to cheat. I'm not really sure how to make that work. :dunno:
-
Once you deck out, you reveal your hand?

that might work, but you could run out of ECs before you deck if you get hit by AoCP or something.

Just personally, I believe The Law is theologicaly incorrect.
The Law of God isn't evil, just misunderstood without his grace. I'm aware that Paul calls The Law a curse but he defends it as well by saying it is good, rightous, and holy. He calls the Law a cures because it displays what is wrong with us but the law has no power to fix us.
