I think it would be really nice to see a simple new dominant card made for the new early church theme card set.
Not really sure what name it should be , but I was thinking something in the title with the word "Holy" in it.
The special ability would be "Look at an opponent's hand and underdeck an evil card from that hand.
Basically the opposite of Vain Philosophy dominant card.
or another idea (as of June 7th) would be "Look at an opponent's hand and topdeck an evil card from that hand.
Any thoughts on this?

I feel like we don't need more look at hand cards than we already do. They don't really have a counter right now anyway, and they are very very powerful anyway.
-
There probably will be some hand protection card in this set, though.

…Since this wouldn't help speed at all...

This card would be cool, I want some new cards (and dominants) for the game. ;D

I'm a fan of this. It already won't be as good as Vain Philosophy since it can't touch Son of God or New Jerusalem, and in my experience, offenses are more likely to be held together by a lynch pin (AUtO for instance) than defenses are. I think the dom limit inherently helps balance it out. There is definitely a concern for helping speed, but I think speed is going to be more concerned about supplementing defense than it is about boosting offense most of the time, due to the way the meta has shifted.

Attended disagree with you on this one Chris. I feel like underdeck in evil card is way more powerful. How many times do you have more than one evil battle winner in hand that can stop the current rescue? Plus it's really only a repeat Dom, I know this has presidence but I'm still not a huge fan.

I understand your point. I might agree with you on this being more powerful than VP, if not for VP's ability to take down SoG and NJ. The number of games that has won me (and others) has been pretty spectacular, and I just don't see the foil doing as much damage. I may also be biased in that I would love to see more dominants printed. The dom limit is the best thing the game has seen in years in my opinion, and making that an even more strategic option with more dominants (as long as they're balanced) is a good thing to me.

I agree with this, especially in T2, you choose when you attack, but you have little control over when you are attacked.

I'll echo the sentiments of Josiah and ChristianSoldier. Don't forget, the card also gives a free look at your opponent's hand; that alone might show you how to win the upcoming battle guaranteed. Taking out an evil card as well is almost a free LS. In T1, you might have SoG/NJ/AotL/this card be 4 auto-rescues, if you draw them before your opponent can draw his counters or battle-extenders.

+1
But I think that VP is better.
