Title: Silver lacks anti-fortress cards
Post by: Lamborghini_diablo on August 21, 2011, 12:16:59 AM
So here are two to help fix that:

Confused Languages: Silver Territory Class enhancement - Place on an evil fortress: Negate that card and all evil banding on it's owner's evil humans.

Destruction of Sodom: 4/0 Silver enhancement - Negate and discard two single color sites or evil fortresses to discard all evil humans in battle.

I definitely like both of these, especially the latter one.

The first one is a little silly. I'd change it to

Confused Languages: Categoría Plata Territorio enhancement - Leg ze op een kwade vesting Негирати ту карту и све зло на зло трака је власника људи

It is definitely too powerful. You don't want to be putting territorial class, or win the battle in it. Silver has lplenty of that already. Just something to throw in your deck if you happen to get initiative. Perhaps interrupt the fortress, then place it on the fortress to negate it for 5 turns, then discard that enhancement to discard the fortress. So that your opponent cant somehow recur it for 5 turns, but give them some time to figure out a way to get rid of it. I think that the cards Cactus has been making are just too strong. They need to make some cards that actually focus on the main purpose of the actual card instead of just saying "Do this this and this AND win the battle..." Its as if having the right cards is more important than the skill of the player that actually uses them..

So the absolute decimation of two ENTIRE cities... with fire and brimstone falling from the sky, doesnt deserve a powerful card?

Plus, whens the last time you've seen pure silver win anything. Silver NEEDS new punch.

Also, other brigades have cards like this. See: Trumpet and Sword. Trumpet blast. Samuel's Edict. Samsons Sacrifice (though it doesnt win a battle). Etc.

Also, if your opponent doesn't have two evil forts/sites out, you have to discard your own. If you don't have enough combined, then it doesn't win the battle.

I'm all for Silver fortress/site discarding because of the biblical backing for it, but I don't like the way you started the thread.

<insert color> lacks <insert card ability> cards lets fix that.  I'm finding it fairly annoying when I see a weakness in a brigade then the next set a card or two comes out to plug up that weakness.  Why can't brigades have weaknesses that don't get plugged up like that and you have to use less reliable counters like artifacts of other general purpose cards that every other card in Tins Ext can get rid of.

Weakness in Brigades are GOOD for the game.

Although if you want to make a utility card useful for silver (without making it a battle winner or territory class) just make it 7/0 and it might see some play, or have it say something like:

Interrupt the battle and discard 2 single colored sites of an evil fortress.

That way if you are dying and you have nothing to stop it you can at least play the card and get its effect before losing the battle.

destruction of sodom is a powerful (the oomph silver needs to stand on its own) but balanced card at the same time. its like an uber trumpet blast, but with a higher cost and limited scope of targets it can discard. i think it might be a little underpowered since the way its worded is you can only discard 2 sites OR 2 fortresses...maybe have 'and/or' in there as well? meaning you can negate/discard either 2 forts, 2 sites, or 1 site and 1 fort as a cost to get the effect?

Protection of Jerusalem is the best anti-Fort card. Regardless, I like Destruction of Sodom (Negate and Discard two (single-color Sites or Evil Fortresses) to Discard...) (also, deserves some dope card art), and Confused Languages is ok (I'd have it say "Negate and Discard an Evil Fortress to place in that territory: Your Angels ignore Evil Characters when more than one is in battle.').

I didn't make Confused Languages discard, because there's no mention in the Bible of God destroying the tower. All that's mentioned is he mixed up their language so they couldn't continue.

Also, my current version of CL works in solo silver and support silver as well as fits the story better, though that one is interesting as well.
