8/8
Clay/Red warrior class hero
Roman Governor
"Search deck or discard pile for Saul and convert him. May band to Paul and Barnabas.
Cannot be negated."

Act 13:7
" He had attached himself to the governor, Sergius Paulus, a man of considerable insight and understanding. The governor invited Barnabas and Saul to visit him, for he wanted to hear the word of God."

I like the idea, but, keeping with the bible, he didn't convert saul, and he wasn't a christian right off the bat. he wanted paul and barnabas to teach him about jesus. i think he should be like the roman jailer, where he starts off as a roman evil character and is then converted if paul or barnabas are in play. or something like that.

Couple of things:

1. What version of the bible are you using?  None that I use have Sergius Paulus listed as a governor, though it does have him listed as proconsul or deputy.  Some cursory examination of Rome's political structure indicates that it is possible this qualifies him as a governor, but more research is needed there.  I'm curious what version has him listed as governor.
2. There's not really anything he did to bring Barnabas or Saul into the light; the reverse is true.
3. He did not really call them before him in the first place because he was a believer, but because he was a Roman.  They were all about hearing about as many gods as possible, and Elymas was trying to get rid of Saul and Barnabas because he feared losing his position if Sergius Paulus took a different god.
4. We really don't have anything that we know about what he did afterwards, so I'd be hesitant to give him anything CBN for biblical reasons.

Thank you guys for your input. The main intent of the card was to have a unique way for Saul/Paul be brought into battle as a hero from your deck in a rather sudden way. Again, thanks guys.

1. New Living Translation
2. Turning Saul into Paul is used just to get the character Paul into play after being pulled from your deck not because he converted him but because he brought Paul and Barnabas to himself to hear the Word of the Lord.
3. This is more or less based on an assumption.  We don't really know what was in his heart.
4. The CBN tag was just so the card completes without interference.
