This uses a new ability, Prepare. It's basically Agur, Elishama, and friends in a single word.

Prepare is an ability that lets you place an enhancement on a character of matching brigade. When that character enters battle, the enhancement activates immediately and is discarded.

I added one important edit.

The enhancement has to match brigade of the character it's placed on.
