Ha! Got you! Now you have to read my observation! As we all know it really wouldn't be possible to make a Jesus hero card because He would be OP to the max. But, if you read scripture carefully and compare it to other scripture we clearly have one!

This encounter Joshua has with the captain of the Lord's Host is clearly Jesus Christ.
1. When He states who he is he uses the term "captain" the Hebrew word sar. Meaning chief, head of, the big man, the leader of the Lord's Host/Army
2. Joshua falls on his face and worships and is not rebuked. Any other time in the Bible when an angel is worshiped he rebukes the human. ie: Daniel
3. The Being encourages worship! He tells Joshua to take of his shoes for he is on holy ground. The exact same thing I AM told Moses at the burning bush.
4. The instructions continue in chapter 6, the Word says, "The Lord said unto Joshua, "and I see no reason to think the conversation in chapter 6 is a break from chapter 5. Why would this Captain of the Lord's Host come down tell him to take of his shoes and then disappear?
5. Who is the captain/leader of the Lord's host in Revelation? Jesus Christ
6. Jesus claims to be "I AM" seven times in the gospel of John.
7. Don't be fooled by the modern use of the word captain. Traditionally captain was a much higher rank if not the highest rank in ancient armies.
What do you think? I wrote this up real fast as so I would be more than willing to expand on any of the points.

Also Melchizedek and Mighty Warrior. There may even be a few others.
-
Joshua the High Priest
-
In Hebrews Jesus is called the Captain of our salvation. I'm not 100% convinced either way, but I have always found that verse interesting.
-
I know some Biblical scholars believe the Angel of His Presence to actually be Jesus.
7 I will tell of the kindnesses of the LORD,
the deeds for which he is to be praised,
according to all the LORD has done for us—
yes, the many good things
he has done for Israel,
according to his compassion and many kindnesses.
8 He said, “Surely they are my people,
children who will be true to me”;
and so he became their Savior.
9 In all their distress he too was distressed,
and the angel of his presence saved them.
-
But Jesus isn't an angel!!! Because Mary gave birth to him and that means he's human,
-
This appearance of Jesus is what many scholars refer to as one of his "preincarnate" forms. If you read the passage in Joshua He never actually claims to be an angel and the Word never says He is an angel. It just says a man.
-
That is correct. The "Captain of the Host," Melchizedek, and at least one other place I can't remember are thought to be Theophanies.

Possibly Genesis 19.
-
The only reason I am not convinced that Jesus was Melchizedek is that Hebrews says he is after the order of Melchizedek. Am I completely wrong?
-
So Jesus can't be in the order of himself?
-
That's is what I am getting. Jesus is after the order of Jesus? Doesn't make much sense, but I suppose looking it up in the greek wouldn't hurt. My desk is full of Redemption cards and my concordance is all the way over there -----> /lazy

It makes perfect sense. Jesus is the only the only one in the order. He is the alpha of the order and the omega of the order. It's all him.
