Another new card idea from me (for better or worse),

"While this lost soul is in play, only one lost soul may be rescued at a time"
In AMERICA!!

Another variant:

While this lost soul is in play, protect all lost souls (except this one) from being redeemed by dominants.

So, you CAN still use your SoG, but you must use it on that one soul, or rescue it with a hero, or bury it.

*EDIT* another fun one.

Only one lost soul may be redeemed by a dominant each turn. This ability activates on every players draw phase.

Tricky to word that one, because "while in play" dies if that soul is redeemed by a dominant, and I want the protection to work until the end of that turn.

That my friend... is the point.  ;)

Though, my second LS would be a nasty card in multiplayer, as only one person in the entire table could use SoG per turn.

That was my other thought.  I think these LS's would really slow down Multiplayer and probably force people to play with defense.

If you really want to use your shuffler, just bury one of the two.

Besides, I thought using SoG on the thorns and then NJ on the shuffler didn't work, as the two are played simultaneously.

For all the poeple who say game issues cannot be solved solely by cards take note.  These cards could solve several of our issues.  Lambo I like your second one a lot, but perhaps if it was worded:

"Only one lost soul may be redeemed by a dominant each turn. This ability activates on every players upkeep phase."

I am pretty sure it goes upkeep, draw, main, etc...  Don't need someone saying I play my dominants during my upkeep before the SA triggers.  Am i right?

The phase order is Draw - Upkeep - Prep - Battle (Battle resolution) - Discard

Edit:

Even cleaner wording:

Each turn, only one lost soul may be rescued by a dominant. If this lost soul leaves the field of play, the ability lasts until the end of the current turn.

*Edit 2*

Another totally random Lost Soul idea:

"When this card is drawn, holder may select one evil character in their territory. That character is protected from all special abilities on opponents cards until this lost soul leaves play."

O_o  I have always though upkeep came before draw, must be more MTG cobwebs in my brain.

I think that LS may a bit strong.  If you get it late game you can have a nigh unstoppable (Garrison,PotW,KOT,etc...), particularly if protect stops ignore.  Does it?  I don't think so but the rulings lately have undermined my confidence in my own ability to understand this game.

Im not sure if you can protect from ignores due to the "stopping from enter battle" part not actually targeting the EC's....

I strongly disagree with that ruling, but oh well.

Also, notice it only says special abilities. You could use any LS negater, Plague of Frogs, or FBTN and beat them with numbers.

This card is too powerful
With all the ways to shuffle ls to the bottom and draw them later or shove them in a site, this lost soul is never going to get rescued because it's defenders choice.

if its never getting rescued and you could essentially have it out at any time (gates of hell, search and more) no one will ever be able to play sog and nj especially in multiplayer games

Oh no, people may need to make more rescue attempts!  :o

I see this as a good thing.  :)

Either that or you could use lost soul negaters if you really want to use your dominants.

Or what he said below me.

That's the general idea, a powerful counter to NJ.  There is also this little gem:

lol praise God, I never thought of that! Man, I need to start running that then! Thanks bro!

By the way, I really like the recent card idea. It's great and I don't think it's "too powerful", it would result in people playing more carefully.

I think a good wording would be:
"While this card is in Land of Bondage or Land of Redemption, only one Lost Soul may be rescued per turn."

Optional:  "Cannot be negated."

Stops NJ, then either Son of God or a rescue attempt can be made.

I was going to word it that way, but it turns out to be absolutely broken.

That soul turns SoG into a reliable defensive battle winner. If they push through, just drop SoG and they can't rescue a soul.

I still prefer my version, because it CAN work strategically as well. You drop your SoG, then nobody else on the table can play theirs. That'd put a serious cog in the gears of Multiplayer.  :)

Very true.  I would just tweak the wording.
