Null- modifies a character's or enhancement's strength and toughness to 0/0.

A few ideas for the ability

So kinda of a reverse of his old ability. Essentially if banded against, all heroes in battle will have 0/0 stats but wont have special initiative. They die in battle resolution however if not negated. 

Another application

Null all the deck discard enhancements so you don't have to give up initiative to play cards like

I think by current rules, Nero would flat out kill banding chains instantly, as making them 0/0 would be akin to decrease and Null, as worded, doesn't protect from discard. I like the magicians, though. While I'm not a fan of mill cards at all, I can see this being useful without being too powerful.

I possibly feel like having Null apply to enhancements alone could be better. It certainly buffs FBTN, but I don't think being able to null characters, unless the mechanic states that it can't discard them, is balanced. Plus, it kinda feels like an infinite decrease at that point, which is kinda odd.

On a side note, I think Emperors have a number convention of 10/# of years they reigned (up to 12). So theoretically, Nero should probably still be a 10/7.

While Nero is making them 0/0, they will immediately have initiative to play any enhancement since the idea is the Heroes aren't in SI. If they don't reverse or negate the null however they will be discard in Battle resolution.

I may be wrong on this, but wouldn't the dropping to 0/0 discard them by game rule anyway? I don't think decrease (Which it's comparable to) waits until battle resolution to kill them. Unless null specifically protects from discard by game rule (which feels needlessly complicated but makes it more than a better decrease for characters), in which case it's terrifying to banding decks.

I guess your right. It would probably need to discard them immediately or put them in SI which would also prevent confusion with interactions between decrease and null abilities. I'm not really advocating that these card be the exact ability for a Nero reprint. These cards are just some examples of what it would look like for game play. However, I do feel that hero banding is easily one of the most powerful abilities in the game and I would be fine with this Nero ability as is because throne lol

well ignore wouldn't discard anybody and I don't think ignore could do what I want with the enhancements.
