"Evil Roman".
And "Tohuw and Bohuw" would be a way cooler name for "A Formless Void", it's the scholarly term used for it.
Also, how can it be "A" formless void? The article would impy that "it" is a specific "thing" that takes the "form-of-the-void", thus making it "not-formless".
-
Since the generous widow is gold and that card can only do something of played on the generous widow...why is it also green?
-
Also, repel=ignore, so you don't have to put repel in cards.
Also, the widow's donation should say up to 3, since having 3 at a time is pretty tough. :)

For game-playing purposes.
-
Evil cards repel, and good cards ignore. They mean the same thing, but very few evil cards say "ignore" and no good cards say "repel."
"For game-playing purposes" makes no sense. What purposes?
-
I think I got it. So you can only add one per deck right?

So that it is easier to counter and so that you can have only one per deck.
-
Okay, "one per deck" makes more sense than "game-playing purposes." But is it such a big deal to discard ECs in set-aside? How often are ECs set aside?
-
Oh, by the way, I forgot to compliment you; the cards look very professional: I thought they were the preview cards from the new set when I first saw it.
-
;D
-
All the cards after the first 1 are old. The 1st one was made with my new template.

Roman Senate seems underpowered, plus it doesn't make much sense when used as an enhancement.
Your cards look pretty good, but changing the illustrator/copyright font to CG Omega would put it just over the edge. I think I've recommended this to you before, but that is one of the main things keeping them from near perfection. Also, the identifier text hasn't been in Arial since Kings/AW times. They use Verdana/Tahoma now.
Another few quick tips to make them even more realistic:
-> I'm pretty sure they don't use hyphenation on their cards. If you do use hyphens though, put them between syllables, not like "th-e".
-> The verse text on some of the cards, like The Deadly Wound, is too large. It's okay to leave blank space in the verse box, they do it all the time. And make sure you keep it all in the box, it's a bit too much in some cards, like Widow's Donation.
-> To be uber-picky, I think some of your capitalization is off. I don't think "human," "demon," "opponent," or "set-aside" are capitalized. But to be fair, I think even Cactus is inconsistent on some of their capitalization.
Not trying to be a jerk, just trying to help.

Thanks for the help! But like I said, the 1st card is the type of cards I'm making now, example:

Except for verse text size, all those apply to the "new" style as well. Especially font.

Could you link me to a direct download of CG Omega/CG Omega Bold?

i'd love to have Roman Senate in my roman defense :)

A Google search for CG Omega gave me this as the first result, which works for me: http://www.free-fonts-ttf.org/true-type-fonts/cg-omega-1307-download.htm (http://www.free-fonts-ttf.org/true-type-fonts/cg-omega-1307-download.htm)

Since you guys make such awesome cards, can one of you design a Jacob/Israel flip card like Saul/Paul?
We've been studying how some people changed names for good, like Abram/Abraham and Saul/Paul, but it seemed like even after Jacob was given his new name he and others who referred to him alternated between names. maybe that will give you some ideas on an SA.

I'll do that. :)

Love assyria's scorn. The rest seem grossly UP'd

That was one of mine. Looks good in visual form.
-
I'm partial to The Deadly Wound. ;) Looks nice in card form.
Godspeed,
Mike

That explains it. Yes it does.

The widow card should be gold and purple since there is a purple widow too...
-
Not the same widow, Not the same story, Not the same action though.
-
sorry i had to say it but wrong verson you need KJV.

No I don't.
-
You do to be authentic.
-
You do to be authentic.
If I wanted to be authentic, I'd use KJV.
-
Well how was I supposed to know you weren't trying to be authentic; that seems a little strange. Why don't you just use a completely different format then to make it clearer?

If I wanted to be authentic, I'd e-mail Rob and demand the templates they use.

Just to clarify my intentions with making the widows sacrifice, or whatever it was called, gold and purple was because the special ability only worked on the gold one. That would work perfectly cause you could use it on the purple widow, but because the card is in reference to the gold one then the ability would not trigger. Just thought it would be a cool way to cross reference cards...
Also, can we not get into slamming translations of the scriptures or saying one is more accurate than another. For making cards, Cactus has used KJV, but other than that being the reason what has been said; we need to cool it...

Stoie Philosiphers should only ignore NT humans. Because ignoring all NT would be OP'd. Also ignore and repel are the same thing, so no need for "(or repel)" otherwise they look good to me :)

I wasn't aware the Stoics were mentioned in Acts; I must have missed that when looking at the card the first time.
I'm very excited to have learned this, it elucidates my understanding of Paul a bit more and adds a few more pieces to the equation.

Fyi - Cactus has moved away from "do this to negate this" language they use "instead of this do this" now to prevent combo's like Trembling Demon + HoH
