Title: Jerusalem Council
Post by: Tom Bombadil on March 13, 2011, 11:00:04 PM
Card type: fortress
SA: "May put an artifact that affects O.T heroes here, while active it affects O.T and N.T Heroes"
verse reference: Acts 10:34-35
verse: "Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right."

Just thought it would be a fun idea to post, I learned about it in my N.T Literature class and thought it was cool...

Site access is ok, and I don't see how this could create infinitely CBN anything. I like it.

Asherah Pole

Nevermind.

Actually, nevermind that again. Asherah Pole + Amon/Nadab

Last time I checked, Asherah Pole affects Enhancements, not characters.

I agree. The O.T. Heroes part of APole is a condition of its affect on enhancements. This card would of course make Golden Calf about 150x more popular than it is right now...prevent Thaddeus with my opponent not being able to discard a placed enhancement or curse to stop him? Yes please.

Well one way to affect it could be something like "after 3 turns, discard the artifact" or something like that...

People get way too trigger-happy with over-balancing cards that aren't unbalanced. That's what happened to a few cards in Disciples that really would have been nice otherwise.

Well again all I am saying is that the idea for the card came to me after one of my classes, when we talked about the Jerusalem Council and they decided that you don't need to be Jewish to become Christian, so that's where the idea came from..

Why did you call it Jerusalem Council and use a verse from Peter's interaction with Cornelius?

Really like the idea. Just needs to be reworded with Redemption terminology: "Holds one artifact that targets OT Heroes. While here, artifact targets NT Heroes instead."

It should be "artifact also targets NT heroes", not instead.

Probably not a big difference, but it's just that I don't think "also" is a defined ability as of yet. It also didn't make sense to me to make a card target both OT and NT at the same time.

The reason why I called it Jerusalem Council and used that verse is because if I remember right, it's around that verse that he learns that when eating with others it's okay to eat things such as pork. Also the issue around the time was that can Christians be Christians without needing to be Jewish in the first place and when God tells him that it's okay to eat pork and stuff, it was when the Jerusalem council was discussing this issue I believe.

You are correct but the Jerusalem Council is recorded in Acts 15.  It just seems like you'd use a verse from that section if you were calling the card 'Jerusalem Council'

My bad, it would be better to use Acts 15:19-21 I think would probably make the most sense with the card...

I like the idea, but u should have a discard point or something, like maybe 'Opponent may discard an Evil Card to Discard an Artifact in this Fortress.' or something like that.
