Title: Husband and Wife
Post by: LadyNobody on July 14, 2010, 11:33:15 PM
2/1 White Enhancement
T.C.
"If played on a male human hero, take any female human hero of the same testament from owner's territory or hand and place on him. Heroes are banded together for the rest of the game or until one is discarded. Cannot be negated."
Reference: "That's why a man will leave his own father and mother. He marries a woman, and the two of them become like one person." Genesis 2:24

The upside is obvious. The downside is that they can't be pulled apart, so depending on who is banded together, it's not always easy to get initiative.

What do you think?

This could lead to some interesting theological discussions....
I band King David to Bathsheba.

Well seeing as how King David is a way better card than Uriah, I think I'd do that too. ;)

Or when the "Make your own Hero" cards come out.  Quite the interesting way to propose.

If that could be pulled off, I think it would definitely be in my top five favorite proposal stories. But it's assuming, of course, that both parties have a 'make your own hero' card...which isn't very likely to happen, seeing as how there are relatively few female Redemption players. Too bad they didn't come out sooner; Brad Coverdale could have used it. :P

wyn, but it says from owner's territory.

I have a feeling there could be some way to break this card.

also, would they be considered "lone" since they are like one person?

I LOVE the idea, but I'd tweak it a little bit to have it actually work (Heroes can't band in territory):

Marriage
2/1 (clever ;) ) White Good Enhancement, TC
"Place a Female Hero of same Testament in your territory on your Male Hero. Any card that targets one targets both. When Male Hero enters battle, both Hero's SA's activate and abilities are added together."

capture here, Ashpenaz, Holy Grail to convert her. it's funny because it actually works out as love story. you like her, you take her with you(capture her), she's mad at you for taking her so she runs away and gets lost and you find her and she's safe but is still mad(she is Ashpenaz'd), you do nice things and convert her to a hero and get married!

"If played on a male hero, take any female hero of the same testament from owner's territory or hand and place on him.

This is a good card.It is not Over-powered, or underpowered. And, It is not nesesaraly a battle winner either. I love the card, good job!  8)

If we're talking about real life, angels are neither male nor female, as they do not procreate. In Redemption, all angels are male, with the exception of the two Angel Wars ladies.

Yeah, a human specification is good.

Check the reference on Obedience of Noah... ;)

Post by: SomeKittens on July 22, 2010, 11:54:25 AM
KJV: Genesis 6:22 - Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.
SKV: God said "Noah, do stuff!" and Noah said "Sure thing God", and dideth so.

Angels?

It was kind of a joke. One of the versions of Obedience of Noah (the Unlimited version perhaps?) has an erroneous reference of Genesis 6:2.

Quote from: Genesis 6:2 KJV
That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

"More and more people were born, until finally they spread all over the earth. Some of their daughters were so beautiful that supernatural beings* came down and married the ones they wanted." Genesis 6:1-2 CEV

*- my Bible notes here that this is also translated 'angels'.

So there you go.

Instaposted by my brother. Of course. I wanted to be the smart one for once. -_-

Some theorise that these were fallen angels, and that's why God destroyed the world with a flood.

Sure, the nephilim and all that, but I'm still not convinced that angels were male, the way we think of being male. I don't fully understand the concept of angels, so I can't make any educated conclusions as to how the whole marrying humans thing would work, but I still don't quite want to assume that the ability to "mate" with females makes angles male.

Actually, if Noah was half angel, his sons would be at least 1/4 angel, which means everyone today would be at least 1/8 angel. I hightly doubt that, but if it were true, I would really be curious as to what a "true" human looked like.

Actually, if Noah was half angel, his sons would be at least 1/4 angel, which means everyone today would be at least 1/8 angel. I hightly doubt that, but if it were true, I would really be curious as to what a "true" human looked like.
agreed

Hey honey,

You don't need proof if you have confidence. You don't even need common sense if you have confidence!
