If we're going to make a Foreign Spearman we might as well give him a spear.
Before the speculation begins, this is not a preview of real card you will see this year.

The ability I saw on the foreign spearman in the thread makes this ability unplayable right?

Yeah, I was about to post this as well. I assume this means that Foreign Spearman has had some changes to his ability in testing.

Hey nice ability I dig it!
If you guys do go with the idea of making a spear for the spearman.... I would rather spears be made for multiple cultures then one grand spear to rule them all.

What is the new font that replaced grail light?

Which part of the card are you asking about?

I think he means the card name. That's the part of the template he showed me that looks different from yours.

Yeah, the card name.

It's called Symphony Black.

I'm really liking the new cards that are coming out, especially ones that are bolstering defense. I think this may be a healthy push in the right direction of allowing more back and forth battles. Remember.... Everything has its place and every place has its thing. Strong, viable diversity in deck building allows surprises to happen rather than..."Not that deck....again...I just played against one like it last round..." Just my thoughts as I get back into the game...... :dunno:
Godspeed,
Mike

I could see this going in a Gates of Samaria deck easy.

+1 Maybe make three dual brigade ones so you could at least have two in T-2 instead of one.

Unplayable...sure. But the spear is still very tossable.

Outside of draft and sealed deck, how many people play with enhancements that decrease a single character by 5/5? Nobody? That's what I thought. :)
Maybe the return to hand condition is too much, but since your opponent controls that I doubt it. CBP is always strong, but it depends on what you're making CBP. Even then it hurts FBTN stuff. I don't see that as a bad thing.
I'm all for making a Spearman in other brigades. Maybe even every brigade. Those spearmen should have a spear that matches their brigade(s). But if this spear belongs to the "Foreign Spearman" shouldn't it match his brigade(s)?

I already made up a spear for pale green that works for Assyrians. Its a reprint of the Kings Glittering spear, but with a ITB decrease ability. All that's needed is an Assyrian Spearman.

Well it will kill characters with toughness 5 or less without needing initiative, (combine it with Plagued with Diseases to hit stronger ones) Sure it isn't CBN (although you can make it CBN in a few ways, Namaan comes to mind) and the ability to reuse it (albeit only if your opponent does something to allow you to do so) makes it somewhat better (plus you can recur it with King Amon and a few others.
This card could be a powerful card in a Brown, Grey or Crimson defense, but still fairly limited since it is only one/deck so I don't see it dominating defenses, just a nice addition to a few.

Come on Gabe with me around you know better then to say nobody uses cards like that ::)

I would totally use this. As a first turn kill especially before they set up, getting rid of a special hero like Samuel or Joseph, even in territory, is great. Then using it again to help win you battles. I like it.
