Title: False Pantheon
Post by: Lamborghini_diablo on June 21, 2013, 09:11:46 PM
(https://www.cactusforums.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi189.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz18%2FLambo_Diablo_Svtt%2FFalsePantheon1-01.jpg%7Eoriginal&hash=a3392659807f1df9bb0c537a826ba25ae719223c)

This does a couple of things:

A) Massively punishes drawing outside of battle.
B) Makes it much harder to use small initiave characters.
C) Fits with the theme of Roman hand control
D) Fits with the (seemingly) Greek theme of forced drawing.

The skip draw phase line was added to give opponent's a way around having 11 cards in their hand before rescuing.

I feel like "may not enter battle" is old wording. Maybe "are ignored"?

I do very much like this card, though. It's a card for card counter for TGT which never hurts (as much as I like my Gardenciples deck :P).

I don't like the idea of ignore on artifacts/covs/curses. I had initially used Restrict, but the wording felt odd like that, so I went back to "may not enter."

Well, I think "may not enter" is treated as "ignore" now so maybe restrict would be better. :P

I mean, you are saying you don't like the idea, but that's really what the card is doing.

I'd consider this to be closer to Paralyze than Ignore.

You could just use paralyze then. :P

"If you control an evil Greek or Roman, opponent's Heroes with toughness less than X are paralyzed...."

I would like paralyzed better. that would implement not being able to do anything, just sit there till you decrease cards in hand.  then they wouldnt be able to hold weapons or go to set aside either.

The more I think about it, the more Paralyze works with this.

They could hold weapons and go to set aside, just not enter battle.

Quote
A paralyze ability targets a character in a territory. That character is not allowed to enter battle until it is healed.

A paralyze ability is instantaneous. A paralyze ability targets the character that then cannot enter battle.

It's been Play-As'd onto a lot of old pale green cards.

This card is pretty broken, its basically Garden Tomb and HHI combined but much worse. How about X or greater instead of less thats not as powerful and it fits with the theme of Hand Control. You could add an additional ability to counter drawing.

but the way it is, doesnt it make people want to draw less? if it is how you want it, they would want to draw.

Bingo. The lower their hand count, the more characters they can use.

I'm wary of any card that makes it difficult to block. Attack, I don't mind, but this stops both heroes and evil characters right now. I would suggest that it should only stop heroes from entering battle.

IO think that it is great. they either draw less cards, or use bigger characters, which gives you inishitive to play what you need.
