Title: Elijah and Elisha Reprints
Post by: Arrthoa on April 25, 2013, 04:36:43 PM
Elijah
Green 8/6 Prophet
Search deck or discard pile for a I or II Kings artifact. Elijah is protected from discard abilities on evil cards. May band to Elisha. Cannot be Negated if Elijah's Mantle is active.
I Kings 17:6

Elisha
Green 7/5 Prophet
Reveal opponent's hand and shuffle a evil card into opponent's deck. When Elisha is discarded, convert a human Evil Character or heal and remove all evil cards on a Hero in your Territory. Cannot be Interrupted.
II Kings 6:17

Elijah's Mantle
Artifact - May be activated on Elijah or Elisha
On activation, you may discard a good enhancement from hand to draw 2 or give your prophets site access. Protect your prophets from set aside and shuffle by opponents.
I Kings 19:19

Excellent. However, Elijah should probably be restricted to bringing back his mantle. Aside from that, I like them.

There really aren't that many artifacts from those books all you have is:
Mantle
Holy of Holies
Altar of Ahaz
Hezzy's Ring
Windows of Narrow Light
Book of Law
Chariots of Fire

Most of these are not that useful and would not be included in a deck that used Elijah

I would change Mantle to read "...on opponents' cards".  Otherwise, Grapes because a battlewinner.

True, but does it make sense that he can bring back Altar of Ahaz, the very thing he tried to destroy?

It doesn't make sense, but the altar when active is discarded if a human hero rescues a soul from your land of bondage. very few people will go in for a rescue with a lone angel. I see no problem really cause most would considered Altar a wasted card slot.

Elijah bands to himself, how interesting. ;)

I think the artifact search is fine. I think Elisha may as well just reveal the whole hand as they'd have to reveal the hand anyway to prove they don't have anymore evil cards in it.

I cleaned up Elijah's Mantle's wording a bit: "On activation, you may discard a good Enhancement from hand to draw 2 or give your prophets Site Access this turn. Protect your prophets from set aside and shuffle by opponents."

Updated and corrected all typos. Do any seem OP or UP?

Forgot to put this in my previous post: Love the cards! :D

They all seem decently balanced to me (but if the Revelation Set is any indication, balance may be something that eludes me :P).

I based Elijah off of his promo. The only thing I added was the artifact search and changed the effect he gets when mantle is active.

Elisha was kind od tricky to come up with. Prophets had little to none revealing abilities and his second ability I based off of Elisha's Bones but with some more kick to it.

Mantle need to do better than just increase your heroes by 2/2. It's site access I took from promo Elijah and I know everybody knows that prophets have very little drawing abilities. This will help stop chump blocks like when your opponent has very little to hurt you with and he goes out with a EC and then throws down Grapes cause he has fewer souls and it'll stop Nebby's Pride type cards.

I would have made card images for these, but apparently my template is now outdated.  :P

Mine was somewhat outdated even with the old layout, but it's definitely outdated now, lol.

I wanted to test run my new template and these ideas were perfect.

Thanks! I like them all. The only thing is Elisha looks kind too cartoonish, but I do appreciate them and love them.
Quick art choice  :P

If I offended you, then my apologies. I was giving my opinion of the artwork is all and I was unaware that it was a quick pick. I've just seen how great some of your others were was all. :)

RA with Isaiah, discard Live coal, draw 2 with mantle, put coal back on your deck, draw two more.

That could be a combo, but you would require at least 2 Isaiah Angels to draw 2 with Isaiah who probably has I's Call on him, then a Isaiah card in hand to discard to draw 2 with mantle.

That's a five card combo to pull off.

Found a typo in the 2nd Ability of Elijah's Mantle: "Protect hour prophets..." when it should say "your". I found it in my original post and just fixed it.
