Title: Ebed-Melech
Post by: stefferweffer on September 22, 2010, 11:02:54 AM
5/4 Purple Unique Male Human Hero

You may return any Green OT prophet who has been captured to territory.  You may interrupt Wall of Protection to band to a Green OT prophet.  All heroes are immune to Crimson brigade.

"My lord the king, these men have acted wickedly in all they have done to Jeremiah the prophet. They have thrown him into a cistern, where he will starve to death when there is no longer any bread in the city."  Jer.38:9

Just a really interesting tidbit here - He is 5/4 purple because he was an ETHIOPIAN EUNUCH in the king's house!  Sound familiar?

Just found that really ironic.  Thanks for looking.

Eh. Solid but very boring. Prophets already have plenty of protection from capture.

I thought about that.  I could use discard as well, because God told Ebed-Melech that he would not be killed with the others.  Tweaking.  Better yet, I'm making all heroes immune to Crimson (Babylonians), which would best describe the scriptural account.  Thanks.

even though boring, it was a logical card. we can't just soup up every card to make them all interesting and powerful. otherwise the one's that should be really powerful, become less

Re-read. I didn't say it needs to be more powerful, I said it needs to be more interesting.

Hopefully more interesting (and even more biblical) now.  Thanks again for the advice.

oh i know, i just tagged powerful with interesting because people are always trying to make non-powerful or non-interesting cards more powerful and interesting respectfully. and usually more powerful and more interesting cross paths :)

anyways, i like the newer version more

That's a little better. The immunity to Crimson will rarely come into play, and this card is actually much weaker now, but it fits the scripture better and this card would only ever be used to play Purple and Green in a FSP deck anyway.

I agree.  It also MIGHT see use in Type 2, as popular as Crimson defenses are.  But then again Crimson has a lot of "interrupt the battle" cards :(
