David the Musician
White Hero
7/5
Warrior Class
Shuffle one demon of 6/6 or less back into owners draw pile. Character may use any enhancement with a Psalms Reference. Enhancements involving music cannot be negated.
1Sa 16:23 And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.
The reason for the 7/5 is music based (challenge: figure it out).

Why the demons part?
-
im taking a lucky guess here, but im gonna say because davids music made the evil spirit leave saul.

True but it didn't stop it from entering (blocking) him.

hmm, perhaps it should say select one demon in play and shuffle into deck. or immune to demons.
i also dont know why hes warrior class.

I'd guess because he fought goliath before the musician gig?
-
oh he did? i thought the goliath jig came after.

Don't think so because 1st Sam 16:17 So Saul said to his attendants, "Find someone who plays well and bring him to me." 18 One of the servants answered, "I have seen a son of Jesse of Bethlehem who knows how to play the harp. He is a brave man and a warrior. He speaks well and is a fine-looking man. And the LORD is with him." maybe he hadn't but he was a warrior.

I agree with the change to the demon part of the SA. Still debating on the warrior class part, the battle with Goliath was the next Chapter so I might change that (despite the Brave Warrior text).
Still no takers on the challenge for the music based numbers huh?
-
didn't they have 12 stringed harps back then? 5+7=12

david didnt play a harp.

??? I Samuel 16:14-23, NIV
David in Saul's Service
14 Now the Spirit of the LORD had departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD tormented him.
15 Saul's attendants said to him, "See, an evil spirit from God is tormenting you. 16 Let our lord command his servants here to search for someone who can play the harp. He will play when the evil spirit from God comes upon you, and you will feel better."
17 So Saul said to his attendants, "Find someone who plays well and bring him to me."
18 One of the servants answered, "I have seen a son of Jesse of Bethlehem who knows how to play the harp. He is a brave man and a warrior. He speaks well and is a fine-looking man. And the LORD is with him."
19 Then Saul sent messengers to Jesse and said, "Send me your son David, who is with the sheep." 20 So Jesse took a donkey loaded with bread, a skin of wine and a young goat and sent them with his son David to Saul.
21 David came to Saul and entered his service. Saul liked him very much, and David became one of his armor-bearers. 22 Then Saul sent word to Jesse, saying, "Allow David to remain in my service, for I am pleased with him."
23 Whenever the spirit from God came upon Saul, David would take his harp and play. Then relief would come to Saul; he would feel better, and the evil spirit would leave him.

not sure how much faith you put in wiki...
The oldest depictions of harps without a forepillar are from 4000 BC in Egypt[citation needed](see Music of Egypt) and 3000 BC in Persia (see Music of Iran).[citation needed] While most English translations of the Bible feature the word 'harp', especially in connection with King David, the Hebrew word is nevel, a type of lyre with 10 strings and not a harp at all. The Hebrew word for one kind of harp is kinnor. Other ancient names for harps include magadis and sambuka.

Less faith than I do the Bible, but I guess I trust the Hebrew words of the Bible more than the English. So you may have a point.

im sure shofar can fill us in, him being the hebrew expert. :)

In every reference to "harp" in the KJV book of 1 Samuel, the word in Hebrew is:
Strongs Concordance
H3658
כּנּור
kinnôr
kin-nore'
From an unused root meaning to twang; a harp: - harp.
Brown Drivers & Briggs Hebrew Dictionary
H3658
כּנּור
kinnôr
BDB Definition:
1) lyre, harp
Part of Speech: noun masculine
A Related Word by BDB/Strong’s Number: from a unused root meaning to twang
Same Word by TWOT Number: 1004a
This leads me to believe that it was, in fact, a harp.
Oh!, the guess was incorrect, if not well thought out. It has nothing to do with the strings of the instrument. More to do with music in general.
Keep trying.

I am by no means a Hebrew Expert, I appreciate the compliment though.
