Title: David spares Saul
Post by: stefferweffer on September 08, 2010, 05:17:29 PM
Red 0/0 Hero Enhancement

Search through opponent's draw pile and remove one evil card from the game.  Cannot be prevented if used by a Warrior-class hero.

"So David took the spear and the jug of water from beside Saul's head, and they went away, but no one saw or knew it, nor did any awake, for they were all asleep, because a sound sleep from the Lord had fallen on them."  1 Samuel 26:12

I love the card but I don't get the significance of the ability to the verse.  ???

David was faced with the opportunity to kill Saul (such as being blocked by the EC), but in this case the hero does nothing to the EC (spares them) but removes something of theirs from their headquarters (draw pile) instead.  Sorry if this wasn't more clear.  Thanks for asking.

This is the David Spares Saul I made back in February.  It's obviously OP, as it is a good version of Wonders Forgotten/Forgotten History.  If it was ever made, it should be multicolor so that only one copy can go in a deck.

David Spares Saul - 4/0 Red GE - I Samuel 26:12
"If an evil character is in battle, battle immediately ends.  Protect humans from discard this turn.  Return to owners' territories instead.  Cannot be negated."

This special ability was how I saw what happened.  The battle between David and Saul immediately ended, and no one else died (hence the "no humans die" clause - although it needs rewording to work as I want it to).

But I like your card too Steff  :)  Maybe throw a "Negate Jerusalem Tower" on there somewhere  ;)

KILL IT WITH FIRE.

While I'd like a weapon that does this, the SA goes with the verse too well and it would be too OP as a weapon.

It was David and Abishai, before David was King and he was running from Saul in the wilderness, who accomplished this feat.  It definitely seemed to be the "red David" who was fighting these battles and evading Saul's army at the time.

Cool, plus Abishai is also red.  ;)
