Title: Card Templates
Post by: TimMierz on July 31, 2006, 10:42:01 PM
Here are some templates for creating your own card images. If there are further requests, I can post more templates or other card parts. Just ask.

Photoshop Templates - Best-looking results, but require an advanced image editor like Photoshop
Photoshop file for mosestaff's templates (http://www.filefactory.com/file/ag2f1hd/n/redemption_mirror_template_2a_psd) (updated May 31, 2009)
Cameron's template (http://hacam.weebly.com/redemption-cards.html)
RRulez's template (http://www.filefactory.com/file/agf89dg/n/Redemption_Dream_League_Template_1_0_zip)
BrianGabe's template (enhanced version of mosestaff's) (http://www.gracecommunitynet.org/Download/BGI_template.PSD)

Image Tempates - Easier to use, with any program, but harder to make look perfect
Templates, by background color:
Black (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/timmierz/TemplateBlack.jpg)
Blue (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/timmierz/TemplateBlue.jpg)
Gray (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/timmierz/TemplateGray.jpg)

Empty (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/timmierz/EmptyTempy.jpg)

*The starred ones have room in the top for a two-line title. If you're only using one line, cover up the extra blank space with the art.

Every Icon Box in the Game:
Icon Boxes (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/timmierz/IconBoxes.jpg)

Fonts used:
The special ability, title, verse text, and icon box numbers are in Lucian. BernhardMod is fairly similar and much easier to obtain.
The artist and copyright info are in CG Omega.
The identifiers are in Tahoma or Verdana (except in Kings-era, where they're in Arial).

All of these are ©1995-2009 Cactus Game Design. No ownership is implied. All images here are for entertainment purposes only.

I have made several custom cards and the way I make cards is to scan the parts from existing cards into a graphics editing program, like photoshop. I put each element into a layer, so that I can manipulate and change each item easier. When I am done, I flatten all the layers together and print it out.

This the abbreviated version of what I do. There is allot more that I do, but I am also perfectionist on getting the cards I do just right.

If you have any more questions, I would be happy to help you out. Contact me at wshangel@yahoo.com

Hello all.

I have a new template set for you all. It is a bit bigger than I can post here. I will set a link to my website in the future. I have 2 sets (made in photoshop, I don't know how they will operate on other programs). One set you will be able create reg. cards and lost soul cards. The other set will allow you create mirror cards.

Both sets have all the important icons and all the brigade colors. Also ten different border colors. Set one (standard) is about 18 mb and set 2 (mirror) is about 13 mb in size.

If you are interested send me a email at wshangel@yahoo.com. All I ask is that is make any cards with this template, send me a copy of what you make. I'd love to see what you can do.

Here are some templates for creating your own card images. If there are further requests, I can post more icons and suchlike. Since I don't have Priests cards yet, I do not have a Curse icon box.

Basic Card Template (http://pages.cthome.net/redemption/RedTemplate.jpg)

Basic Icons: Characters, Enhancements, LS Site, Artifact (http://pages.cthome.net/redemption/Template%20Icons.jpg)

More Icons: Fortresses and Dominants (http://pages.cthome.net/redemption/Template%20Icons%202.jpg)

Yes Please, Mister: Multicolor Enhancements and Weapon/Warrior Icons (http://pages.cthome.net/redemption/icons3.jpg)

Oddly-skewed templates for Warrior Class (http://pages.cthome.net/redemption/TempWC.jpg) and Weapon Class (http://pages.cthome.net/redemption/TempWC2.jpg) cards.

Large template by mosestaff (http://angelflightart.com/artsamples/redemptiontemplate1.jpg)

the large template does not work for me, can you try to fix it?????

Post by: mosestaff on June 04, 2007, 07:32:46 PM
there is no website set up to make redemption cards. You have to copy and paste images (either the templates here or somewhere else) and manipulate them yourself.

There is a lot of different ways to do that. Send me a email at wshangel@yahoo.com and I can help you work with what you have.

i'd get paint shop pro 11, i got it for 30-40 bucks. The retail was $120, but then Corel lowered it to $80. I got it on clickcooldeals.com. you might want to search google to search for it if the site does not come up. I have version 7 and 11. 11 sometimes won't work. good luck  ;)

I'm not 100% sure, an answer would help me also.

I was thinking about making a LotR one, or I was just thinking that it would be cool. Best of luck to you. I'm sure you can find PSP (paint Shop Pro) in eBay. try clickcooldeals.com. I got PSP11 for $30. thats totally cheap!

For the card name, ability text, and points, I use Times New Roman.
For the bible verse, I use Bernhard Modern Std
And for the artist text, I use Helvetica Neue

Ok, thanks for the info. However, I can't find free versions of some of them, and don't feel like paying for fonts... :-\ Would anyone be willing to send me the fonts, or maybe tell me the names of some similar free ones? Thanks. :)
Title: Re: Card Templates
Post by: mosestaff on June 07, 2007, 10:32:22 PM
I would just go through the fonts you have, compare it to a real card, and see what works best. If you are a little off, thats ok.

A lot of my template work, I had to that. I had to do a little work to find the right images to work for the backgrounds.

There is a free version of BernhardMod, not quite the same as the one mosestaff uses, but it's really really close.  It's what I've been using on My New Cards (http://www.redemptional.com/images/cards/).
Title: Re: Card Templates
Post by: TimMierz on June 08, 2007, 07:19:17 AM
The same font is used on cards for the title, ability, numbers, and verse. I'm not sure why you use something really close to Lucian (Bernhard) for the verse, but Times New Roman for the other parts; it would probably look better if you used Bernhard for those as well.

These will be more difficult, but I'll see what I can come up with.

By the way, would people like it if I posted icon boxes of various brigade colors?

Now in the first post:
Fancy new templates for Angels, Priests, Demons, and Dual cards!
A single image with every conceivable icon box. Colors taken from FOOF cards (or the most recent card of the appropriate type if such a thing was not found).

If you see any problems with any of these, please let me know. I have the master files for these, and so it's not too hard for me to make changes. I hope these are useful and fun!

Here are some resources to help create images, use the templates on the board, or compile your cards.

These are free.

Paint.net
http://www.getpaint.net/index.html (http://www.getpaint.net/index.html)

Gimp
http://www.gimp.org/ (http://www.gimp.org/)

This is going to be some money, but works exceptionally well.

Photoshop
http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/compare/ (http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/compare/)

Good luck with those cards

Make sure you are working in the correct layer. In photoshop you have to click to activate the layer you want to work in.

Send me note if you need more help.

It looks like Gil Galad's upload is down for the time being, so mosestaff's template is inaccessible. I can, however, access the dual-sided ultra-rare template just fine, so maybe you just have to try that again.

15 different card borders.
All brigade colors.
Elements to make any Good, Evil, Dominant, Fortress, Artifact, Curse, Covenant, Warrior, or Site card.
Regular or Lost Soul card.
and all the text elements.

Like a template without the background swirls and twirls, so that custom backgrounds can be made.

Are you talking about the boarder around the card, for example the gold board on ultra rares and promos?

The templates on the first page allow you to hide/show any layer, inlcuding the boards.  You can also insert your own layer for the background (or anything else) you'd like to personalize.
