Title: Be Unto Your Name
Post by: browarod on April 25, 2011, 04:46:42 PM
Be Unto Your Name
[White/Blue GE | 1/4 | Hymn, X = # of your musicians, or Genesis Heroes | Psalm 18:49]
If used by a musician or Genesis Hero, negate and discard an evil fortress. Its owner may discard X cards from the top of their deck instead (put Lost Souls in play instead). You may draw a card.

This card is awesome. I'd like to use this on my own fort to discard one of my own Lost Souls. I think the LS lockout strategy needs to be upped a bit.  ;D

Good point. I should probably add a "(Lost Souls are put in play instead)" clause to it.

EDIT: Added.

I like it!

Far too strong for a no-cost ability on a TC card. Give it a cost or take away it's TC.

I had it TC because all the other Hymns are TC, but I'd rather keep the current ability, so I removed the TC-ness.

Now it's good. And if this were printed, between it and Goliath Green David would start seeing a TON of play.

Do I need the LS clause in there?

Yes. Good Deck Discard cards will always have that caveat.

I think its epic. Musicians aren't seeing enough use, i mean yeah they're nice but the GT ladies are much better, this would help musicians make a comeback and at least they would part of a lot of decks.

I think this could also be a remake of Trumpet Blast, except it be red/teal

I agree with this... I think you should have to it remove from the game to d/c.

I don't mind it since the only way to play it pre-block is with Green David @ Hidden Treasures, and it's fully negatable. MLaMG does what this card does and more.

My Lord and My God, negates and Discards an evil card in play or set-aside.

MLaMG and Trumpet Blast were part of the inspiration for this, but I wanted other themes to have something similar (and Genesis heroes have always had a place in my heart).

It's not a battle winner (per se), so I'm okay with it being recurrable.

Genesis Heroes are AWESOME, (ya gotta love Benjamin) and the winner of the 2008 Nats won w\ a Genesis offense.
