Title: Anti-Speed cards that may actually work.
Post by: Minister Polarius on October 12, 2009, 02:59:48 AM
With the advent of TxP, we get the first two anti-Speed cards that actually work and aren't useless against non-speed: Mayhem and DD. I think there should be more.

Nebuchadnezzar's Court
Green Site
"When a Lost Soul is Rescued from this Site, all players Discard all cards in hand except 10."

The Rich Young Ruler
3/3 Multicolor Evil Enhancement, TC
"Place on your N.T. Human Evil Character. Any time your opponent's hand exceeds 13 cards, you may Discard this card to view opponent's hand and Discard a card."

Masada
Fortress
-Holds any number of N.T. Heroes-
"You may Discard a Hero from this Fortress to Negate a Good Enhancement in play or set-aside that was played when no Evil Character was in the field of battle."

Scenario:
It's my turn, I had 8 cards in my hand and draw 3 for my draw phase... It's all enhancements / doms so I don't put anything down in my prep phase... I make a RA at Nebuchadnezzar's Court with King Hiram, but I already have all my fortresses in play so I draw a card, and you can discard anything in my hand, I make a sucessful RA and have to discard 3 more cards.

I like Masada though

I think speed is hurting pretty bad as is, so I don't think it needs much more. Masada is UP and Rich Young Ruler is a little OP. Nebuchadnezzar's court is good though.

speed is not too bad now, as someone uses dd, they just negate it if they are usxing it to prevent playing of enhancments. but if they discard it.. then ur sunk

I'd change the site to discard down to 9 or 10. Having two extra cards isnt too bad, but its very possible to have more than 8 cards after a RA naturally.

Trust me, speed is still bad.

Rich Young ruler is a very intersting Idea though 11 cards is a little steep if you bumped it to 12 and changed the name of the card (since there is already a character with this name) then it would be super cool. The first card just stinks... The third one is a nice idea except the concept of Heros stopping good cards goes against basic Redemption gameplay of Good stopping Evil and Evil stopping Good.
