15 So the Lord sent a plague on Israel from that morning until the end of the time designated, and seventy thousand of the people from Dan to Beersheba died.

16 When the angel stretched out his hand to destroy Jerusalem, the Lord was grieved because of the calamity and said to the angel who was afflicting the people, “Enough! Withdraw your hand.” The angel of the Lord was then at the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.

17 When David saw the angel who was striking down the people, he said to the Lord, “I am the one who has sinned and done wrong. These are but sheep. What have they done? Let your hand fall upon me and my family.”

Love it. If you could do something about the glowing neon white text in the scripture box I'll add it to the card image thread.

Clarification please.
If both the Evil character and the hero are discarded by an ability used by the hero, he doesn't get the lost soul, does he?

Correct, the hero would not rescue a lost soul it would be like Samson's Sacrifice.

...unless he was protected from discard.  (this may not be possible)

This would be terrible in a Job deck...just saying. Angel that bands to Job and Job in battle against a random evil character, everyone get's discarded except Job and he wins automatically.

If you used this while Job was in your territory, he'd go straight to Discard.

Israelite Archer to Angel of God. Swift Beings, Angelic Order. Other variations could be Helez + Helmet of Brass to IA to AoG, they block, Angelic Order. Or IA to AoG + Angel's Sword, they block, AO.

I love it.

Job wouldn't go straight to discard if Dust and Ashes was out...terrible.

Ironically, Job isn't being harmed in this instance.

He would go straight to Discard Pile. Do not pass Dust and Ashes, do not immortal.

Yeah, I guessed.  Three reasons:
A.) the one mentioned above.
B.) An opponent isn't targeting Job
C.) He's not in battle, so his ability isn't active.
