I thought this might be kinda fun and would possibly make some peopl want to use the Esther promo:
King Ahasuerus
Type: Evil Char. • Brigade: Brown• Ability: 6 / 4 • Class: Warrior • Special Ability: If Esther is in play heal and convert King Ahasuerus to a purple brigade hero after battle. If Esther or Hamman are in play search deck for an Esther card of matching brigade• Identifiers: OT Male Human, King of Persia • Verse: Esther 1:1 •
Now the problems I have with this are:
1. When it says "card of matching brigade" it's supposed to mean "matching Ahasuerus's brigade" is that how it should be worded?
2. Because of Esther you can have a Good Ahasuerus but, say Esther dies, you could still have Hamaan in play to search your deck for a good card.
3. I know I could word the ability correctly but I don't want it to be uber huge.
4. Also there needs to be a reprint on courage of Esther, otherwise there'd not be a real reason to want to convert Ahasuerus.
5. I have no idea why I picked the */*s 6/4, if any one has anything more accurate or better, please tell.
Any help'd be awesome.

Couple of things. King Ahassuerus was never inherently evil so I don't know if I would put him as a evil character because throughout the book of Esther he was shown as good. I would also put him as Xerxes because that is the more common way of knowing him.
If you want a reason to search for Esther cards go here.

Ignore the new color cause as Pol stated in the thread esther theme is to limited. All the pink should be all white seeing as white doesn't have a great O.T. Theme yet.

Well, one thing that could classify Ahassuerus as bad would be signing Haamans decree, yes he didn't know he was killing his wife, but he knew he was killing a bunch of other dudes, he was like a OT Hitler. Thats pretty stinkin' evil, at least I think so.
Also the name Xerxes is never mentioned in the KJV which is what Redemption uses.
-
Well not everyone is sinless. Think about how awful some of the things David did. He had Uriah and Joab killed. You can't present judgement on a man that you know nothing about. Seeing as Xerxes repented at the end of the book I would put him as a hero because he also reversed the hamaan's decree to save the jews.
-
Thus the "convert if Esther is in play" part.
-
I agree, he should start out evil. Jesus is much less mamby pamby about heathen leaders than the modern church has become.
-
I'm right now trying to find a good pic for Ahassuerus to make his card with, can anyone help with that?

How about this one?

That could work, thanks. It looks very redemptiony
-
It looks like everyone else is dancing, and he's trying to fit in.
-
I just don't know if people would use him if he were limited to Esther's enhancements. King Lemuel is much more affective with a similar ability and he relies on Esther or now the new Abigail. (He can search discard pile for any OT purple EC when female royalty is in play)
I like the idea of a band to Esther that would create some awesome protect ability.
Some kittens are you ever not sarcastic? Its not a bad thing but I hardly ever see you give a straight answer…
(Way to keep it interesting.)

Some kittens are you ever not sarcastic?
That looks like a trick question: If he says yes, then you have no way of knowing if he's being truthful. If he says no, then that's paradoxical. Good luck.
-
Or it was rhetorical ???
-
Wait... Are you being sarcastic now?

Check the ruling threads, I'll give a wrong answer, but it's still straight.
/*considers implications of giving a gay answer*
