Title: Additction
Post by: golgotha on June 09, 2011, 02:17:02 AM
Got this idea, hopefully it works and isn't to overpowered....

Addiction
6/6 Orange Evil Character
May band to a human evil character. OR if Addiction defeats a human hero in battle, take that hero prisoner. Cannot be prevented.  If opponent plays a healing card, discard Addiction.

Wanted to capture the...well, addicting nature of being addicted to anything. I feel that the ability does that well. I like both the abilities and feel the "OR" balances it some. The banding to an evil character is nice, and the second part of the ability gives your opponent the chance to "fight" Addiction and win. I wonder if the "OR" is really nessacary, if the card would be to overpowered without it.

Might need a little rewording. I would say this is actually a weaker card as there is protect running rampant especially against capture. We already have an evil demon that bands to a human, and the healing discard ability would only hurt him.

I'd do
Addiction:
4/4 Orange Evil Character
Negate all special abilities on Heroes and Enhancements. If Addiction successfully blocks a hero, he gains 2/2 and may search opponent's deck for a healing enhancement and discard it.

I feel like capture is a poor representation of being addicted, since you aren't literally taken prisoner.

I would change the ability to
"You may place an evil enhancement on an opponent's character. That character cannot enter battle while it remains. Opponent may set that character aside for 3 turns at any time to return the placed enhancement to the bottom of holders drawpile. Cannot be negated."
-taunt identifier

This would make destructive sin a much more useful card and could allow a paralyze defense to work. Im not sure if I wrote the ability correctly, but it isnt supposed to kick heroes in battle out.

As for the banding ability, I don't think he should have it since not all evil people are inherently
addicted to something.

I also think a pseudo rehab is more fitting than healing enhancements curing it.

It also makes it a CBN block against a lone hero.

I tried to word it so that wasn't the case, Im not sure what to change it to.

I feel like addiction should be something continuous.

Addiction
Multicolor(?) evil enhancement
Set aside your hero and an opponent's hero for the remainder of game. Each upkeep phase, all players who have a hero set aside by Addiction must discard the top card from deck to draw a card.

add "in territory"

add "in territory"

I wanted to keep in battle for destructive sin, but if there's no easier wording change that works

I know there's a lot of ideas to read but I'm only adding 1 more:

Addiction 5/4 Orange EC
If this character defeats opponent's hero in battle, place this card on that hero. Selected hero may not enter battle until this card is removed. Negate special abilities on good healing cards while this card is in holder's territory.
-Taunt identifier, generic demon

Now if only we could find a verse....
